Isn’t this the reason for the spell check when posting? As well as the [Spell] button just below the Tagline window? That little squiggly red line that appears below some words has a purpose...

>>Principal vs. Principle
On the Mary Tyler Moore show, Mary once answered a co-workers question about the spelling by mentioning the mnemonic device: “The Principal is your pal, p-a-l...”

I see ridiculous misspelled a lot. It’s usually ridiculous. My English teach said ‘You get red in your face for misspelling ridiculous with red in it!”

Guilty as charged. I was once a secretary and in those days, I had impeccable spelling and grammar. Had to or I’d be fired. Now I’m sloppy. Even worse, I don’t proofread as I should, and that makes for some really gawd-awful, unintelligible posts.

Hildabeast vs Hildebeest, when referring to the Secretary of State. The latter is correct, being derived from
wildebeest, aka gnu, an unclean beast with cloven hooves.

Might I add moot point instead of mute point?
"mute point" any time a democrat opens their mouth and you reach for the remote to turn off the volume?

It's OK. I'm an English teacher, and most mistakes I've encountered here (or anywhere else) are easily made, especially if people are keyboarding in a hurry. It's only the REALLY bad and glaring examples that make me mutter to myself
.
