WASHINGTON, D.C. - Donning their Sunday best, President Barack Obama and his family attended Easter services this morning at St. John's Church in Washington D.C.
Located a block away from the White House, the protestant Episcopal parish is a frequent visit for Obama and past presidents. A casual stroll through Lafayette Park will bring you to the historic house of worship in minutes.
The president, first lady Michelle Obama, and daughters Sasha and Malia were seated about six pews back from the pulpit of Rev. Luis Leon, whose sermon reflected on the uncertain state of world affairs as they related to the faith.
Citing a recent New York Times article, the pastor said a new renaissance in Somalia's capital could be seen as an allegory of rebirth.
"Now you may say, 'They're all Muslim.' But so what? That is evidence of the resurrection," he said.

Sure. Tell that to my pastor who talked all about resurrection and the love of God for man. As well as the sacrifice Jesus made to save Man.
Yeah, those Episcopalians are a cult, too. Right?
It just shows that all faiths have preachers who are as lost as a flock of geese without a leader. Sadly they have a leader if they’d just open their scale covered eyes.
I think it refers to the 80 plus rounds of womanless golf that he has played since stealing the election.
LLS
This must have really cut in to his golf game....
I think the title originally read ..... “Obamas OFFEND Easter worship at Historic DC Church”
.... for all da allah that is in him.
Did anyone report the church vacating for the stench of sulphur?
I missed the length of the older daughter’s dress. It is one of those short dresses though she is so tall that it is less noticeable. The family looks good today if not Spring-y.
I think Sasha’s dress is supposed to be longer, vis-a-vis the average early-teen’s height. She has her mother’s dreadful posture, but she’s nearly 6 feet tall already.
My Elen, who just turned 14, is taller than I am in my sensible old-lady pumps. In another few weeks, she’ll be taller than I am in my spring sandals with 2” heels! She doesn’t have the technique to wear heels, or she’d be towering.
The Obamas do look very wintry.
I didn’t see any very short dresses today, although I’ve been seeing what look like long tops, worn with tights or leggings, on both girls and adults. They look okay, except on the stout.
I think the chiffon dresses are the current style here. Sally wore Elen’s dress from last year, purple and blue floral on a white background. (I can’t wear last year’s dresses since I’m nursing again, but I’ll fit into them by next spring or die trying!) Kathleen wore a light-and-dark pink stripe, upon which she has just spit, but I’ll change it after her nap.
IHOP after services-my treat!
Easter is when you break out your white shoes....

Memorial Day. (Yes, I am an old lady.)
But you are right about the colors. But the outfits are nice. Michelle’s dress is nice, but someone needs to tell her that shrugs are best worn by young, slender women.

Twice in 3 years is frequent?!
Memorial Day. (My mother is old ;-). I don’t even own white shoes, because you can always wear off-white.
I’m wondering if the Easter/white thing is a deep South thing because it is almost always warm by mid-March. My “Easter shoes” were usually white. I had black shoes for after Labor Day and white shoes to go with my Easter dress. And my gay friend is from Alabama, so he would follow the same rules my Mama followed. When we lived in Michigan, it was often COLD on Easter. I’m more practical nowadays, and I say wear what is appropriate for the weather. If that means you break with fashion traditions, then so be it. I guess I’m a rebel. lol
Obama kicked off Easter weekend on Saturday with a trip to the golf course. The Hill reports:
Yes, we probably learned an Up North rule. My mom is from Philadelphia. We seem to be agreement that white goes away at Labor Day.
Yep - Great Leader getting all religiousy the closer we get to November.
Oh, really? When did this start?
Fashion Ping Alert
MO wears teeny tiny cardigan.
Overall...the Husseins look OK.
Don’t think they’ll be so happy election night in November.
Cheers
Off white is a good choice. My mother always referred to it as “bone”. Of course, in those days it was calf leather. And the purse had to match, and we wore gloves to church.
