Rudolph Hess believed the Jews had hypnotised Winston Curchill into taking a negative stance towards Nazi Germany, according to the Deputy Nazi leader's recently discovered psychiatric records. Notes written by Dr Henry Dicks, one of the Army psychiatrists who monitored Hess while he was a prisoner in Britain, detail his bizarre convictions. Hess believed Churchill had been 'mesmerised' by evil forces who were trying to kill him because he was the 'only person who knew of their secret psychic powers'.
Professor Daniel Pick, a historian and psychoanalyst from Birkbeck College, University of London, studied Dr Dicks' notes for a new book The pursuit of the Nazi mind - Hitler, Hess and the analysts which will be release in June.
He told the Daily Telegraph: 'When people told him about the concentration camps, for example, Hess was reported to have argued that if atrocities existed it must be because the Jews had hypnotised the Germans to make them behave so cruelly.'
Hess is said to have worshipped Hitler and was made his deputy in 1933.
Like Goebbels, he was privately distressed by the war with the United Kingdom and secretly hoped that Britain would accept Germany as an ally.
The claims are detailed in a new book by Professor Daniel Pick, The Pursuit of the Nazi Mind In 1941 he flew to Scotland, his plane crashed but he parachuted into the country, landing near Glasgow, on an apparent
He was captured and spoke to Churchill at Ditchley Park. Churchill initially sent him to the Tower of London, making him the last prisoner to be held in the 900-year-old fortress. Hess was detained by the British for the remainder of the war.

Awfully clever of those Jews. [/s --> extreme]
If Hess were alive today, he would have his own show on MSNBC.
Wow. Sounds like Hess was Muslim.
The Daily Mail article in quoting Hess is an utterly vacuous, repulsive piece of probative garbage. As if anything he had to say on this subject would transcend in the slightest way what the Nazis had committed, claimed.
If Hess were alive today, he would have his own show on MSNBC.
I thought it was those pesky Amish again.
That has to be the most retarded thing I ever heard. Yes, retarded.
“That has to be the most retarded thing I ever heard. Yes, retarded.”
Well said.
And some will believe.
The world has gone “Pontius Pilot” - “What is truth?”
Having to live with a name like that, he probably needed a shrink, himself.
If it was my name, I'd have changed it to something else, at a young age...... George...Sam...Jim... Charles Dicks or something. : )
“It’s not a lie if you believe it.” - G.Costanza
This is a timeless saying.
Knew a guy by the name of Richard Head, a fuel-oil salesman. Went by the name “Dick’’. Swear to God.
LOL!
He is so completely and totally deluded. Not too different than lots of folks out there today. To talk to them is a bit like talking to a black hole. Any light you try to shed on them simply get swallowed up. If you weren't having the conversation with them yourself, you could hardly believe that such people with such responses existed. Their responses are total nonsense, total and abjectly wicked nonsense.
There's a reason that paper is also called the Daily Fail.
Hess was held in the tower for 4 days in May 1941. In August 1971 German spy Josef Jakobs was executed in the tower. In 1945 William Joyce aka "Lord Haw-Haw" was imprisoned there.
In 1952 the Kray twins were held there.
The last is a bit sad really, because otherwise the last Englishman sent to the Tower would have been rather appropriately Lt Colonel Alfred Daniel Wintle (also called "Mad Jack" Wintle for some unknown reason even though his name was not Jack or John).
He went to the Tower in June 1940 charged with "conduct contrary and to the prejudice of good order and military discipline" namely stating forcefully that one Air Commodore Boyle of the RAF should be shot. Wintle successfully had that charge dismissed by offering into evidence his complete list of people who should be shot to aid the war effort. These days they'd just lock him away as a dangerous terrorist - the world's gone soft.
That’s August 1941, not 1971
