President Obama's Easter Address. White House April 7, 2012
Good afternoon. This Sunday marks a holiday for a major religion in our nation. Easter is a time for families to come together to enjoy a nice meal and perhaps go on an "egg hunt". Thousands of years ago the people of Europe seeking to invite their god to return after a long an cold winter lit fires and painted eggs as a sign of fertility.
Today we also express our hope for a new dawning in America when prosperity returns after the winter of flawed economic policies that forced so many of our people into a dark night of want and despair.
Now we are seeing hope return! Just like the budding of trees and the blooming of spring time flowers, thanks to the hard work of so many in Washington and in my Administration we see that America is beginning to work again.
Our baskets are being filled -- not with candied eggs and treats -- but with thousands of green energy jobs and health care for everyone.
Easter time holds special meaning for Christians. But all of us, no matter what faith or philosophy -- or even if we choose not to believe in cultural myths at all -- can identify with elements of the sacred rabbit story: no matter how cold the winter, spring always triumphs!
So, let us celebrate the triumph of hope over despair. Of faith over doubt. Of equality over wealth hording.
Let us take hold of the notion that there is something out there that is bigger than ourselves! So while we may put our trust in ancient cultural beliefs, we are even more comforted with the knowledge that something truly bigger than our selves is working in Washington providing the benefits and programs that are helping Americans find their way in life's journey.
Just like the Easter Bunny brings treats to satisfy our sweet tooth, our policies are ensuring that the middle class will not be left with empty baskets.
That is why we ask that the top one percenters in our nation to give just a small part of their wealth to share with the vast majority who just want to get by with some dignity. Then our land will be like a lawn spread with colored eggs, ready to be found!
This faith helps unite Americans of all backgrounds, income levels, ethnicities, sports teams and parties. It reminds us what can happen when the rich are generous! It gives us strength to endure difficult times caused by the flawed policies of the past. It is this faith that lavishes upon us hope as we look for the coming of that Bunny of Recovery in the near future.
Happy Easter. And good egg hunting for us all!
“Looks like I fooled some here, hee, hee.”

It’s deceptive that’s what it is.
Anyone got a big enough sack for this excrement?
Remember back in 2009 when Obama told people not to go to Las Vegas. Seems this might get to be a great campaign issue for the king Obama. Here is a link to a 2010 story.

“You can’t go take a trip to Las Vegas or go down to the Super Bowl on the taxpayer’s dime.” Barak Hussein Obama 2009..
I read his actual address. I think I like the satire better.
A major religion !?????
FUBO
Gee, I thought he would have compared himself to Jesus again.
“Yes, and the link goes to some blog that doesnt even mention this.”
Consider this a belated April Fools joke. Looks like about half the posters were fooled. Hee, hee. We can all image Obama saying stuff like this.
Is this from The Onion?
Please tell me this is from the Onion. I cannot bear the thought that this nation is being “lead” by such a dunce.
“Please tell me this is from the Onion”
It isn’t the Onion. I wrote it based on what Obama said.
Just for fun.
True it links to my blog, but if you go there you will see that I get no income from ads or anything.
The Obama Clarifier is an educational tool I created after a student asked: Why do people dislike Obama so much?” http://obamaclarifier.blogspot.com/
My goal wasn’t to up traffic to my blog, really. I was just trying to be funny and make fun of Obama who is always spewing blather in these holiday addresses.
Hopefully it lightened up our day with some humor.
Say what!?! I had to check to make sure this wasn’t satire. Further proof he’s not Christian.
OMG! I just noticed that pic of Bo who found some quail eggs.
Ok. Satire.
I am relieved that he didn’t really say this, although it was quite believable! Good job to you!
“Remember back in 2009 when Obama told people not to go to Las Vegas.”
Yes, his words had consequences on the tourism industry ofr Nevada. He doesn’t care.
Obama doesn’t believe that Americans should consume so much. We need to be more like the third world where people can’t really afford to eat or drive their cars. Hence, gas and food prices have doubled under his economic policies.
They say, a President can’t control gas prices. But, by dumping a $1 trillion into the ditch, discouraging American energy policies (no Keystone, no drilling on fed land) and three quantitative easing moves, no wonder we are headed for an imitation of Somalia.
Gas is $4.40!
Obama is so outrageous that somethings all we can do is laugh.
Cultural myths?
“Cultural myths?”
Yes, Obama is an enlightened intellectual who dismisses quaint believe systems like Christianity.
I made up this speech as a joke. But, here is what Obama thinks of Scripture. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNCklX2wZy4&feature=player_embedded
Your wrong we all need to work hard during the next six months to defeat him. We need to use shoe leather and go door to door.
“Your wrong (all we can do is laugh) we all need to work hard during the next six months to defeat him.”
True. We must work to drive this bunny out. But, hopefully we can be happy warriors at the same time.
WTF?? I thought this was a parody!
