I saw Three Dog Night tonight and they were AWESOME. Those old timers can still rock. I just wish they did Eli. They did not.

The man that wrote Never been to Spain and Joy to the world was a good singer/song writter himself. Hoyt Axton. I liked Della and the dealer and several others he wrote and sang.

Thanks for mentioning Hoyt Axton! He is one of my favorite song writers along with Townes Van Zandt and a bunch of others. Here is Hoyt Axton singing
Poncho and Lefty, written by Van Zandt.

I have seen 3 Dog Night in concert 3 times. The first time was in 1970 at the University of Alabama and the last time was about 4 years ago. Yeah, they can still do it. Awesome group.

It was 40-41 years ago. Details fade with time, LOL. Ain't that the truth!

Add the Hollies to that list! Long Cool Woman in a Black DressBelieve it or not, that very song is on the mp3 playlist I was listening to earlier this AM. "Sure As I'm Sitting Here" is by Three Dog Night
Here's a screen cap of the list:

I saw them in 1971 on a bill with Rod Stewart and Steppenwolf. As far as high notes go, I recently saw The Zombies...their lead singer came right out and hit the high notes on “I Love You.” It was a beautiful thing!

Today... People with no talent...Freakin rappers.... It's not just Rap. Just about all the music of the past 20 or so years is horrible. But, I agree, Rap is by far the worst of it. Even the TV shows and cartoons are awful today.
