Yes, I'm logged in.
Something happened to my computer when I went to some site where I was supposed to be able to view sports events from around the world. Afterward I ran Malwarebytes and Spybot and I think they each got rid of something. I've cleared my cache.
But I'm still having incredible difficulty with FR. This has been going on for more than a week. Google and my email site always come up as does most everything else I go to. When I've tried other computers I never have a problem (except when FR is really down). This is a Windows 7 computer with IE-9. Suggestions to get an Apple Computer or to use Firefox or Chrome will not be appreciated, but other ideas will.

I don’t think it is Firefox, as that is what I use exclusively and it is just plain very slow to refresh or initially get on.
I have frequently counted to 15 or 20 before FR comes refreshes.
I have tested this with my Samsung 10” tab...that is virtually instantaneous.
I have tested this with my Sprint EVO android phone, both in 3G or 4G, again much faster than my desktop.
My desktop is modern, my net connection thru cox cable is very fast (my tab & phone use my in house wireless connection).
This has bothered me for many, many months and I have started a thread (but not completed) many time to try to explain this.
It appears other Freepers have the same/similar problem!
It just took 12 seconds to refresh my response after hitting post/post!
How STUPID!
I'm not complaining about FR being slow. I'm having a problem with one of my computers, which just happens to be the one I use the most often. I thought maybe some clever FReeper might have a suggestions for me. But sadly, I mostly gotten responses like yours.
If it were some problem with FR being slow, it would also slow on my other computers. Duh!

Are you logged in as yourself?
I have to congratulate you for having the first post on this thread which actually addresses my initial post.
And since you asked, I was looking for a UVa basketball game which wasn't being shown where I live but I knew was on down in Virginia.

So no, it's not just you, any bugs you might've picked up notwithstanding.
He says he is timed out and doesn’t know where he put the timer control.
I was tresponding to the people who were yammering about “Freeeper seems slow again today.” not your personal computer problems, which I hope you can get fixed.
For that you insult me twice. Nice.
I don't know how John Robinson handles incoming requests. That is, he might be running verifications against the HTTP user agent info. Mine looks like this:
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/11.0Some people code to parse that info and depending on what the parsers return, take certain action. That could be it or something else entirely.
Hey @$$hat! For a guy who doubled down, insulted ME, and admits that he didn't read all of the six line post (depending upon your window size) that is the basis of this thread, I think you need to look elsewhere for entertainment. You could have just apologized when it became obvious to you that you had made a mistake, and that would have been the end of it, but you didn't. Maybe you would be happier on some lib site?

How long does it take just to refresh the page without posting a comment? For me it takes about 1-2 seconds.
So far you've asked if I had difficulty with the English language and you've called me peabrain and @$$hat.
Maybe you'll have a better day tomorrow.
Well, thanks for your hopes. (Honestly, I've had enough Hope for a while, but that has nothing to do with you.)
But I addressed my comment to you because you addressed your comment to me. That's how things work here.

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice. -or-
Jim Thompson, Jim Thompson, Jim Thompson!
FR certainly has it’s moments. Believe the quarterly fundraiser goal was upped and met last time with the idea of replacing servers at some point. I don’t think anything of consequence has actually been done in some time, it’s operating on a wing and a prayer. Just my opinion.
Do you have Norton? Dump it. Completely off your system...
