Word For The Day, Monday, 3/25/12

;

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

burgeon; verb

1. to grow or develop quickly; flourish: The town burgeoned into a city. He burgeoned into a fine actor. 2. to begin to grow, as a bud; put forth buds, shoots, etc., as a plant (often followed by out, forth ).

Etymology: 1275–1325; (noun) Middle English burjon, burion; shoot, bud < Anglo-French burjun, burg ( e ) on; Old French burjon < Vulgar Latin *burriōne ( m ), accusative of *burriō, derivative of Late Latin burra wool, fluff (compare bourrée , bureau), presumably from the down covering certain buds; (v.) Middle English burg ( e ) onen, borgen < Anglo-French, Old French, derivative of the noun

Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Dude got busted with the “empty” baggie which had trace residue of MJ.

That’s pretty lame.

That’s what I was referencing but I think she’s been caught up with college b-ball lately.

I meant lame all around. Lame of him to hold onto an empty bag and lame of the school to be searching backpacks and testing empty baggies.

I hadn’t noticed, but now that you mention it. GMTA

I have Hannity on on my computer and he is saying the same thing. Do not rush to judgement on this. More facts coming out daily now.

Just now on Hannity an obviously black man called in and added another $1000 to the black panther bounty to bring in Zimmerman for the panthers to have their “own” trial and convict him. then kill him. Dear, God.

I was in the car listening to Sean and when the pastor made the comment that the only time they talk about violence is when it’s another race and they never mention the black-on-black crime and I screamed out loud. Yes, the windows were open too.

The truth always comes out. That is a shameful thing to do when you lose a child.

Well, we still think so, but since Cindy Sheehan turned her son’s demise into 15 minutes of fame and a bunch of money, the sense of propriety for grieving parents appears to have changed.

Rev Al need to leave Florida-
He makes the situation worse
The faster and more it burgeons
The better it is for his purse

The Black Panthers are evil-
Offering rewards for death
Of a man yet unconvicted-
How racist with every breath

They all need to be sent home-
Let local police handle the matter
The driveby media is fanning flames
For headlines with lies and chatter

From what few logical facts are to be seen in that Florida case, it looks to me as if two people who were not the sharpest tools in the shed got into the perfect storm of a volatile situation, overreacted, and it ended in the worst way. I may be wrong, but from what I see so far, it looks like that...

Is conservatism starting to burgeon in Europe? Or reawaken?

That’s what happened, but this story is all about the race pimps hopping on a tragic situation and twisting it to their advantage. Soother’s demonizing of Zimmerman plays directly into the race pimps hands.

Au contraire! His is a bad example of how an armed citizen should comport himself. We do our cause no favors by embracing him.

No one is embracing him. Race pimps are threatening and demonizing him.
