My Vision Of Newt Gingrich
Cindy Kay

Posted on 03/23/2012 10:39:21 AM PDT by Cindy of Nashville

I picture Newt Gingrich as an old seasoned sea captain, with the captain's hat and the pipe standing at the helm of the USS America, calmly, with ruthless brilliance righting our ship that has lost it's course. He's the only one who knows where the the reefs and sandbars are and can prevent a ship wreck. If people don't start letting him have the wheel, we're going to all need life jackets.

Even if you could get FReepers to ignore the baggage, Americans are not. He barely has a positive approval among GOP voters. Polls list him as untrustworthy. He is not going to recover and take off until/unless he can convince more voters that they can trust him. FR contains a small subset of the population. Convincing the rest to change their minds is more difficult.

“You must be lily white pure to cast such a judgement.”

You must be blind to have missed the sarcasm in my comment.

“He’s not pure enough. We’d rather drown.”

I imaginined a Sarc tag and got a good laugh.

Is that how you meant it?

Romney's past is moot. Santorum’s past is moot. Gingrich's past is moot. None of them have the mysterious past like Obama has. The mission is to beat Obama and Newt has the best chance. Stay focused!

At the national covention, all delegates must choose between Romney and Santorum because Newt and Paul do not win at least 5 states.

All Newt and Paul’s delegates should boycott the convention if their candidate’ name is not on the ballot.

Unless birther issue is raised.

A girl can dream, can’t she. You have a dream for Santorum, don’t you. I won’t make fun of it.

I am fairly sure that Newt can get five state delegations at the convention to voice their support for him, so this is not an issue. I thought it was as well, until I got a chance to read the entirety of rule 40.

Sorry Magic, I guess I’m taking things too seriously. Thanks for letting me know I was wrong about your post.

Honey, how does he have any chance any more? I see newt’s flaws but I’d take him over Romney. But I don’t see even the faintest possibility. Please explain. I am so lost with all the fr newt praise at this point.

The same way Saul of Tarsus did. You have a problem with that?

I have seen no apology from romney, nor have I seen any repentance...just more lies and a doubling down on excuses.

Very nice analogy, Cindy Kay. I like it.

Newt is the only one with the toughness, commitment, philosophy, & experience.
Imo his “baggage” is as overblown as his “implosions”. It’s the other 2 who have turned out to be- & continue, to be the ones we were warned about.

I hold great hope for the next 4 months & the convention.
No one should *ever* underestimate our guy!

GO NEWT!!

I see a death row conversion in Gingrich. He knows his last is a problem if hecwants to run for oublic office again so suddenly he finds Jesus. Believe him if you like but every time I hear him invoke the founders “sacred honor” I get a bit nauseated.

I hope Newt asks Obama why he is making such a big deal about the Treyvon incident in Florida yet said nothing about the black on white murder recently.

That has been proven to be incorrect.

There is two ways. Get A plurality of 5 States unbound delegates before the convention starts or Survive the first rounds of ballots in tampa. Then all Delegates are unbound and anyone can jump in if the get the same plurality of ballots.

Has a brokered convention ever happened.

Sort of a group etch-a-sketch thing, right? Gingrich has a better chance of getting on the men’s Olympic gymnastic team than he has of beating the Kenyan.

This a sad place the nation has got to. We have four (5 if you count the Martian gynecologist) of the worst people ever running for the most important job ever.

All I know is the Kenyan is the worst choice but the rest pretty much suck too.

Newt is the only one that can do the course correction, and we only have a small window of time to do the correction or we will truly be another Greece...
