1. Did you try amazon? Check whom they get yarn from. I’ve gotten all kinds of natural yarns angoras and whatnot through thm.

2. There are yarns that have glittery threads in them that are wool or cotton. My daughter has a soft sweater like this.

Hope you get good responses.

Figure out how it's made, and buy a machine to make it yourselves. Vertical integration is what Henry Ford called it. ;)

You’ve exhausted all your suppliers contacts in Manhattan?

If you have reached the point where you must underwrite your own production run of specialized yarn, first off , congrats!
secondly, start contacting the manufacturers direct to run a lot for you, no need for a middleman, most of the remaining domestic yarn manufacturers have in house sales who will be happy to work with you if you are expanding your business/orders.

Are you making an EMP-proof sweater? Which begs the question, what would an EMP attack do to people with pacemakers?

http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/493868829/gold_metallic_yarn_embroidery_thread_sparkle.html

There are many sparkle yarn suppliers on ali baba. This one had the smallest quantity, ie less than container load.

Ali baba is the best of commercial web sites for sourcing stuff globally . Go to Ali Baba.com and search for sparkle yarn

When you say “yarn,” do you mean something like nylon crocheting thread, only metallic? Or soft baby blanket yarn, only metallic?

Sent you a private reply to your e mail box. Contact for close friend of mine who is a strong conservative. Her business is “yarn”. Will be the only call you need to make.
