Robert De Niro has signed up to host a cocktail reception -- featuring first lady Michelle Obama -- to raise money for President Obama's re-election campaign, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The event, scheduled for March 19 at the Greenwich Hotel in New York, will be co-hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Star Jones, Angela Bassett and Tina Knowles, among others. For $5,000, guests will get one ticket to the reception plus a photo with the first lady. For $25,000, guests will be allowed to attend a private "greet" session with Obama.

DeNiro - one of the most over rated pretenders in the history of cinema pimping for the “one”.
Oddly though it’s the masses supplying all the labor and votes to keep the elites esconded in power and privilege. I think the masses don’t understand what they are doing.
Saw him on the Golden Globes rambling about doing what was necessary to keep his kids in private schools.
Arrogant, sure, and a sell-out, but honest about it and a little refreshing.
And in recent news:
Robert De Niro denied entry to his hotel
Actor Robert De Niro was barred entrance to his own luxury hotel while filming Being Flynn when security officials mistook him for a homeless man ...
Sure, blame it on the role in the movie ...
You are expressing the right idea but it will never happen. People are too pleasure mad.
Have you ever heard Robert de Niro in an interview? The guy is a stumbling moron, or afflicted with Alzheimer’s or something.
Max Koch Channels Tony Soprano, Part III.
Caution: Crude language. If you hear any words you're not familiar with, just ask the nearest 13-year old to explain it.
Barry comes to town at least once a week...the NYPD must be thrilled.
Did you see his role in MACHETE?
Agent: "Uh... you get to be Czar of Hollywood".
What difference does it make if De Niro’s wife is black? I find it troubling that race keeps coming into this.
Awww, come on Machete was an awesome movie. IMHO, Tarantino and Rodriguez are two of the most talented film makers still living.
The 1%. Will the 99 % Occupiers protest? Hold your breath!
DeNiro?
Wow.. One Hollywood scumbag after another wants to campaign for the corrupt, communist piece of dog sh**, Ubama.
I never see Jack doing this idiotic stuff.
Just because it doesn’t make a difference for some does no mean it doesn’t for De’Niro....because obviously it does to him and he has said as much. SO don’t try and race bait me on that issue....it’s from his own mouth.
There’s always going to be those who make it an issue.....the better question is what kind of issue are you making it by even ‘questioning’ race?.... The fact is De’Nairo prefers dark skinned woman.....he has long stated so.....Obam’s father was black his mother white....like attracts like.
For starters, it’s De Niro, not De’Niro or De’Nairo.
Second, let go of the paranoia. No one is trying to race bait you. You brought race into this thread, not me. I merely asked a question seeking clarification.
More from the same article,
"In the movie, the veteran actor plays a struggling writer working in a homeless shelter, and he took to the streets of the Big Apple to get into the mindset of someone who has nowhere to call home.
De Niro reveals his transformation was so successful, security guards failed to recognise the heavily-disguised actor when he walked up to The Greenwich Hotel after a day of shooting in New York.
However, De Niro, who owns the posh palace, didnt hold it against the staffers because he was happy to see them doing their job."
“...to the white courtesy phone....”
THAT’S RACIST!!!
I agree. I have some of my old favorites that I can’t help myself with, but we don’t go to the movies. I don’t think my 6 year old has ever seen a movie at the theater unless in the womb counts when we saw March of the Penguins as a family.
