"Severely" Conservative Positions [Vanity]
me | 3/16/2012 | me

As we all know, free republic is a conservative website.

So, I would like to know what views freepers have that can, correctly or incorrectly, be labeled as "extremely," or in the words of Mitt Romney, "severely" conservative.

Note that I am not saying whether any of these views are right or wrong. I'm just interested in what freepers think.

These are all designed to be yes or no questions.

1) Is Barack Obama the worst president ever?

2) Is Barack Obama intentionally destroying America?

3) Should the Kaaba be destroyed?

4) Should Mecca be nuked?

5) Should Mecca and Medina be nuked?

6) Should Tehran be nuked?

7) Should Muslim immigration to America be restricted?

8) Should the president claim that Islam is the motivation for terrorist Islamic terrorism?

9) Should war be declared on Islam?

10) Should the draft be brought back?

11) Are you opposed to taxpayer funded public schooling?

12) Should America return to the gold standard?

13) Should the Fed be abolished?

14) Should social security be phased out?

15) Should there be anti-trust laws?

16) Should the production of money be privatized?

17) Should pornography be restricted?

18) Should divorce and remarriage be restricted?

19) Should the availability of abortifacient contraceptives be restricted?

20) Should the availabilty of non-abortifacient contraceptives be restricted?

21) Should laws against sodomy be instituted?

22) Are you morally opposed to masturbation?

23) Is Barack Obama Muslim?

24) Is Barack Obama a socialist?

25) Is Barack Obama a communist?

26) Is Barack Obama a naturally born citizen?

27) Is Barack Obama's certificate of live birth a forgery?

28) Would you refuse to vote for Mitt Romney if he is the Republican presidential candidate?

29) Should all illegal immigrants be deported?

30) Should English be declared America's official language?

31) Does the 2nd Amendment guarantee the right to possess weapons such as grenades?

32) Does the 2nd Amendment guarantee the right to own things like tanks and battleships?

33) Should the 16th Amendment be repealed?

pornography should be restricted.

That is a cultural issue, not legislative. The fact that our culture is circling the drain is no excuse for flushing the constitution

I didn’t sign up last month.

You are still an obvious troll. My guess is a college sophomore/political activist who wants to make the Professor happy. Try a Lewinsky. It's somewhat less degrading than your foolishness.

I don’t kid about it. I say we use it for blackmail, and threaten to nuke it if the terrorists attack us again. I think it’s the only deterrent that will have any effect on them.

I would hope to God they are joking.

I can't remember everything I've read here, but I do seem to remember serious discussion on the topic. Something along the lines of it being the only way to stop Islamic terrorism. And besides the obvious objections, people saying that Islam would adapt and it would inflame even more terrorism.

Our Constitution has been flushed 20,000 times with the laws on the books, but by all means you can still groom your own kids for sex by desensitizing them with pornoography.

A little opo research for the One, or a complete set up, or as I suspect both.

You have to remember that you have lunatics who claim to be liberals, lunatics who claim to be conservatives and lunatics who claim to be the love child of Adolf Hitler and Jesus Christ. In short, just because a lunatic lays a claim, doesn’t make it so.

I would love to be able to reread some the comments that have led Jim to nuke (not ban) accounts. For newbies, nuked accounts erase the user and all posts he or she made. We’ve had our share of raving lunatics.

Go create your bogey man elsewhere and stop attributing your misguided assumptions to me. Sheesh! I don’t type well enough to correct your preconceived notions about me.

No, we should threaten to destroy it if we are attacked by terrorists again.

I should have made the Mecca and Medina questions ask whether bombing them should be options instead.

These questions could be used against you. Are you guys sure that Obama’s friends didn’t ask these questions? I only answered that I won’t & I really won’t vote for romney. Call me paranoid, but look at what our dear leaders did to the first amendment.

I'm usually curious too when I see old threads where an apparently frequent poster was nuked. The long-time freepers who get nuked must post something really awful to warrant that.

These questions could be used against you.

If you think that's true, I would not be opposed to this thread being taken down. I did not think it would prove to be so controversial in the way that it did.

Which article of the constitution do you feel regulates pornography? The enumerated powers in article 1, section 8 seem to me to be silent on that issue. The fact that you feel that by my pointing that fact out is equivalent to advocating pornography illustrates the hopelessness of the strict-constructionists cause. That is the logic that the liberals use.

I am reminded of the Civil War. Slavery was not the only issue, but had it gone away it would likely have prevented the civil war.

The McCormick Reaper and subsequent machine cultivation and harvesting made the business of keeping slaves uneconomical, and it was only a matter of time before the institution of Slavery would have been phased out by technology.

The Islamic world is in a similar state. We might not have to go to war with it. I believe if it can just be held back from doing something stupid (Iran with Nukes) technology will eventually overturn the dogmatic fanaticism of Islamic extremists.

The Internet has brought pornography into the Muslim world, and as a result, Muslims are having impure thoughts. :) As a result, it undermines the absolute rigid control that religious purists have on their followers.

The internet has also made them aware of other vices, and I think in a long term contest between the vices and their religion, the vices are going to win. Before the Islamic Crackdown in Iran 1979, (Thank you Jimmy Carter!) Iranian girls were wearing clothing which was quite provocative by their standards.

In an odd sort of way, Pornography and such may end up being a force for good in the middle east.

Yes, it's an odd theory, but I'm not the only one who recognizes it as a possibility.

pornography is not “speech”

would you let states regulate it?

Could they regulate it like a normal business?

You may only rape minors for your productions between 4 and 6pm?

I would answer YES on all the social/religious conservative questions.

For example, YES, masturbation is considered a sin in my religion.
