HILLANDALE, Md.,-- A Maryland woman said she was shocked when she saw her receipt from Radio Shack identified her as an "ugly itch" from "ghettohood, usa, tattoville, Maryland."
Shanae Lewis said she had a disagreement with a salesman at the Hillandale Radio Shack when she purchased a $20 cassette adapter and the salesman told her about Montgomery County's 5-cent bag tax, which she had never heard of because she is from Baltimore, WUSA-TV, Baltimore, reported Tuesday.
Lewis said she argued with the salesman for a few minutes before asking for a refund, which she received along with a receipt.
She said she was shocked to find the words "ugly itch, ghettohood, usa, tattoville, Maryland" typed at the bottom of the receipt.
Lewis said the salesman admitted to typing the words and said he was kidding, but she was not amused.
"I was shocked more so than anything, and then I became angry," Lewis said.
Lewis said she has contacted Radio Shack's corporate office and hopes to get the salesman fired.
If she was being rude to the employee, in my book she loses all rights to not receiving rudeness back.
Eye for an eye.
I hope she succeeds in getting his ass canned.
I agree that if this went down as reported the clerk should
be fired.
I’m wondering how this could have happened - do point-of-sale devices have the ability to allow typed in comments
on the register slip?
Too bad you can’t vote customers off the planet.
.
He shouldn’t have done it, and wil lprobably be fired -
But - still - it is kind of funny. Working with the public can really just get to you sometimes.
I can’t see myself doing it = but I can certainly imagine thinking about it!
They have to be dead three days before Laz rejects them.
Sheesh. You'd starve if you had to rely on me for your living.
You've never been to a Radio Shack, I take it. Yes, they bombard you with name/address/phone/etc. questions, all for their marketing people to exploit. It prints as part of the receipt.
The real question is - does the register allow editing of this information after the transaction is completed?
i toASt therefore i am!
I’ve noticed numerous comments on FR that could be taken in a racists manner. I am for giving people the benefit of the doubt here. But nonetheless, its something I noticed over and over.
I hope if it is not imagined, it is simply the friend of my enemy is my enemy mindset. Since black and brown tend to vote democrat. The country is going to continue to get darker, that is a fact. The white population in the US is barely replacing itself. Its necessary to change hearts and minds. Its necessary to assimilate immigrants. You don’t want to push them into the other camp.
Laz, they’re taking your name in vain over here, and since I think they mis-spelled the courtesy ping....
LOL
har har har
We have no proof of how the woman acted. All we have is the register receipt, which is only proof of the employee’s rudeness. BTW, I would also protest a bag tax.

Not for years. I usually go to Fry’s for my computer/consumer electronics needs. They
have never asked me for any personal data not needed to complete a sale.
Fine and dandy. But why protest to the store employee? Why get on their case? Especially, as she admits, for a while before then demanding a refund (which is her right, BTW)
Well, it was dumb on the part of the cashier (firing stupid if you ask me), but the thing’s accurate.
