A man who police say assaulted and carjacked an 86-year-old World War II veteran is behind bars Friday morning. Detroit Police say the 21-year-old suspect was arrested around 1 a.m. Friday.
Aaron Brantley was on his way home from Bible study when he was assaulted in broad daylight and his car was stolen from a BP gas station on McNichols near Fairfield Street last week. Brantley told The Associated Press said several people passed by him as he crawled, unable to walk because his leg was broken in the attack. He eventually tried to pay a stranger to drive him home, but the man drove him for free, and called an ambulance.
Before making the arrest, police released a video surveillance tape from just before the carjacking

If Occupier - in - Chief loses in November - there will be riots.
Doesn’t say much about our society, does it? This poor guy..I am ashamed for others actions some days.
Hopefully the suspect ‘resisted arrest’ for a long time and then had many accidental falls down stairs and encounters with doors at the police station...
There's only one real solution:
You don't think? Oh man, perish the thought!
Detroit used to have that. It was called STRESS. It worked, too.
Daddy Coleman didn’t like it and disbanded it.
My dad was with the Tactical Mobile Units at that time. Fortunately for him, he was already a lieutenant because that was also when affirmative action started rolling and the only officers that were being promoted were blacks.
I remember one day he brought home a listing of officers who were up for promotion to sergeant. The list also included their test scores. All the officers were black and absolutely none of them had scores higher than the lowest scoring white officer. It was disgusting and dad was rightfully pissed off..........
Yea, Coleman Young ran that city.......
Reading comprehension seems to be down here at FR. Worrisome.
