Did anyone else see the blue-green light shot across the southern sky?
No, didn’t see it, but I’m 150 miles south of you in the Sierra and last Summer I saw a green glowing ball rise out of a remote canyon about a mile away, then zig, zag rapidly back and forth above the mountains before plunging back into the canyon.
They were doing some absolutely stunning early evening conjunctions with the crescent moon a week or so ago. Beautiful!
Been kind of a down day for me......until I read your post. LOL!!!
I was walking out my front door which faces south and I saw it cover from 90 degrees to below the tree line in less than two seconds.
Very large and very bright blue-green, no tail, just a very bright fast moving light.
ROTF!
This seemed so close that after it disappeared below the tree line, I waited several seconds waiting for the sound of an explosion before I told my wife what I saw!
I’ve never seen anything move that fast!
You baaaaad....
hee hee... good one
But on another night about two weeks ago I was out looking for satellites with my binoculars and caught an object traveling at a tremendous speed. It looked closer than a satellite. Maybe a meteor just skimming the atmosphere?
This was moving from high to low, and faster than anything I have ever seen.
I’m waiting for the evening news, maybe they will report something about it.
I want to say it was a meteor but this was extremely close if it was.
Was over ice fishing on Jackson Lake one time and we saw a meteor cruising along the tops of the mountains. In the daytime. I got freaked out when my dad sorta freaked out.
And there was a night some of us saw a green meteor streak across the sky. It was during a meteor shower. Figured that baby was pure copper.
Post of the week.
I've got a 'bright lights' story that would knock your socks off, but no one would believe me if I posted it.
What amazed me was how fast it was moving. I’ve see shooting stars move fast but this was brighter and faster which made me think it was much closer!
I think earth just barely avoided a massive collision but I’m no expert.
See=seen
Let us decide please.
My wife and I saw one of those go straight over our house during the Leonid shower some years back. Fantastic sight. That thing was hauling ass, smoking and glowing green. Just beautiful.
I saw an orange meteor once. Sodium, maybe?
I am also in the foothills of the Sierra. This light was very bright, had some green & seemed close. It shot down in an arc at a rapid rate. Though for sure there would be something on the local news. So far nothing.

Post it! You might be surprised. I can’t promise that I’ll believe it, but it would be interesting to read.
