DALLAS - An American Airlines flight bound for Chicago from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport was returned to its gate after a disturbance on the plane ended with two flight attendants being transferred to a nearby hospital with injuries, the airline confirmed this morning in a statement.
Early unconfirmed reports from people reportedly on the plane began flooding the Internet in the morning. Reports said a flight attendant became irate, warning passengers over the public address system that the plane was going to crash. Another attendant reportedly denied the claims over the PA, asking passengers to dismiss the announcement.
"The last thing she said (before they took the mic from her), 'Hey pilot, I'm not going to be responsible for your crash," said Greg Lozano, a passenger on the flight.
Passengers on the flight helped subdue the attendant, with one person saying it took about five people. In raw videos taken by passengers, the woman could be heard screaming out loud and crying out for help.
One of those passengers, Brad LeClear, said the attendant told him she was bipolar as he helped try to calm her, ABC reported.
Later in the morning, American Airlines released a report confirming Flight 2332 was returned to the gate and DPS officers were called to the scene.
Sources said the flight attendants' injuries were not serious. American Airlines said the cabin crew was replaced and the flight departed at 9:47 a.m.
“Listen, Betty. Don’t start with your white zone {stuff} again.”
Traditionally ~ not so long ago actually, bipolar folks began to "cycle" a couple of weeks before Vernal or Autumnal Eqinox, and had to really watch their dosages closely ~ or just this sort of thing would happen ~ not "could happen" but "would happen".
The more recent medications leave them less debilitated and aren't reported to be involved in "cycling".
Hmm.
Maybe she needs a new doctor. Fur Shur her progressive modern management is probably going to fire her for cause ~ not that i think it's smart to allow bipolar folks to be in positions of responsibility and authority in airplanes....... but I've seen equally enlightened and progressive modern managers persecute folks with epilepsy. Some of them do it mercilessly imagining this condition has something to do with "sin" or "mayhem in a previous life".
Cynic that I am............
If you heard the recording of her screaming you would swear she was demon possessed. No Lie! I heard it on the radio today here in DFW and it was weird.
Funniests movie EVER IMHO.
That was my FIRST thought too.
When a pax or crew says they are going to crash the airplane automatically qualifies for a particularly bad beating over every square inch of their body. And if necessary, duct tape them from head to toe.
OK. But a lot of them may just be thinking about the lost customers, too.
Somebody forgot her meds for?.... a week or so?
That was my FIRST thought too.
Actually, my very first thought was that in an effort to embrace diversity by the airline, the stewardess was a Muslim.
Naw, I’ve seen people go after epileptics for no reason at all. Must be one of those UR FEAR things.
Those guys are really primitive.
She is union so she will get to keep her job and maybe even get a bonus....
>> the attendant told him she was bipolar
And AA had absolutely no knowledge of this?
Diversity.
