WTF is this anyway? Could you give some background why a horse giving birth is somehow considered newsworthy, or did I miss something? I’m sure there are plenty others here that have idea what you are getting on about and why it needs to be on FR. Take that into consideration when posting and give us some context.

Why would you bother to click on a horse thread if you have no interest? And, yes, plenty of FReepers are interested in horse racing.

There was no indication of even what the thread was about, so I had to click it. It wouldn’t hurt to post some background info in the title or synopsis, otherwise these posts just look like selfish vanities.

Yes, Please give us some idea of what this is about. Like...
The American champion Thoroughbred racehorse, winner of 19 consecutive races in a 20-race career and American record-holder for consecutive victories without defeat in unrestricted races, Zenyatta...

Not exactly under a rock (see my tag line), but I guess my USA pop culture is a bit weaker than my USA politics.

no worries. i’m back in the US and i don’t bother with any of the pop culture. pop culture is purely for distraction and irrelevant.
the trivial distractions are the reason the country has been getting torn apart over the last 50+ years.

American record-holder for consecutive victories without defeat in unrestricted races, Zenyatta... Hardly!
Most of the races she ran in were restricted to females.

I'm a serious person. I read serious material about history and current events. But I cannot do that 24/7.
I cannot be bothered with trashy human celebrities, but horses are beautiful creatures, and this particular mare, Zenyatta, is not only beautiful but she's a character as well.
Life must have some beauty as well as meaning.

She was never more wonderful than in the one race she lost by about 8 inches. I've never seen more gameness in a Thoroughbred.

The jockey must have been on suicide watch following that lone defeat, given how easily she should have won the race. She was by far the best horse in the race. He had her way too back early on. A match race between her and the great filly Ruffian would have been interesting, particularly with their complete opposite running styles.
