Be that as it may, I am definitely going to catch the opening of JOHN CARTER tomorrow night. Rolling Stone called it “mildly entertaining” so how could I stay away?

You must be talking about someone else. This guy is Canadian. "Armand Douglas "Armie" Hammer (born August 28, 1986) is an American actor. ... Hammer was born in Los Angeles, California." - Wikipedia

It is only fair. In Spanish , ‘Tonto’, means ‘Fool’.

I thought we were told that hiring whites to play minorities is racist?? You're absolutely right. Liberals should be incensed about this.

Next thing you know, they'll get a black guy to play James West. ...or a black guy to play Perry White.

I just saw these posts, and wondered if maybe he fled to Canada to avoid the draft? That’s the kind of thing Wikipedia might omit! Then he would have gotten a pardon from Jimmy Carter.
But I guess maybe he’s too young for that.

Right. I just tried Bing Translator on “Tonto,” and this is what I got:
Translation: Fool
Dictionary: adjective - silly, foolish

But I guess maybe hes too young for that. Anyone who was eligible for the Vietnam-era draft has to be at least 56 by now. Hammer is only 25.

The verse was me duele tonto, I think it roughly means it hurts me more than I can bear or more literally it hurts me stupid. I think you have a letter wrong in that.
"Tanto" means "so much" The verse would be "it hurts me so much" The way you have it written it would be "It hurts, Stupid!"

Yeah, I know. But I figure he’d run to Canada if he had the chance. He was just born too late.

The song says, “Me duele tanto.” Not tonto, Tonto. That means it “it hurts me so much.” This makes me giggle. ¡Que bárbaro!
