My old boss worked with him in Operation Petticoat and he said that Grant was the same off camera as he was on.
The genuine article.

I'm going to order it. I'm amazed that I don't have it now.
I watched it for the first time with my father. Wonderful memories. :)

He even got named in the credits at the end of the film.
Larry Gilliand, next to last name in the credits LOL
He yelled “air raid!” from the sail of the boat during the luau.

Well Vision,
Did you enjoy it as much of the rest of us did?
I think some of Cary Grants greatest talent was comedy, though I think Arsenic And Old Lace was so slapstick that it reminded him of his days in the Circus as Archibald Leach.

Well, I was going to let it go but, no I didn’t really like it; but I’m glad I saw it.
Madcap comedy doesn’t do it for me. I’m a screwball guy. There were probably 2 or 3 laughs. It doesn’t translate well in 2012. Back then it probably was quite shocking with all the murder and everything so that may have made it zanier.

Thank you so much for this post... I needed a break from politics tonight, so I decided to watch Arsenic and Old Lace, and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it!!! Hope you did as well, and again thank you for letting us/me know. It was a pleasure to laugh out loud while watching TV... It's been awhile.
