Nicely done. I uninstalled Carbonite from my computer this morning and cheerfully filled out the “why-are-you-cancelling” survey, calling them out on the Rush Limbaugh ad drop.
I then logged into my account on Carbonite.com to make sure it didn’t automatically renew in June.
Looking for a new online backup service now.
Are you getting any refund? I signed up for 1 yr & still have six months. I still will get a replacement by the weekend, which is an external drive for backup but still would like some bucks back.
Who is your ISP? I ask because I have Carbonite. About 2 years ago COMCAST, my ISP, switched from McAfee to Norton to provide the FREE anti-viral, firewall, etc. package to their subscribers, so I downloaded the Norton Suite and cancelled Carbonite.
Then, to make it work completely safely, I went to Staples and bought an inexpensive little USB hard drive, hooked it to my ‘puter, and set it up for Norton to automatically back up the files on my ‘puter on a regular basis.
If my computer goes on the fritz, my files are automatically backed-up on the separate hard drive, and can be restored at any time, should that be necessary.
It’s beautiful. And Carbonite can continue to pound sand!
