Short Bus's Obama Birth Certificate Defense Is Officially ZOTTED
The Stir ^ | 3/2/12 | Sasha Brown-Worsham

Posted on 03/02/2012 9:17:36 AM PST by Short Bus

Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona is bound and determined to make sure we never forget the embarrassment of the birther movement. Most of us would love to put that ugly little racist blip in our history -- a time when conspiracy theorists and fools alike accused President Barack Obama of not being American. But Arpaio, a sheriff in Phoenix, Arizona, just won't give it up.

Can we say beating a dead horse, people? Sometimes it seems like certain politicians just do things to help out Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, and Bill Maher. After all, how else does anyone explain Arpaio's inane and insane assertion that Obama, a man who produced his birth certificate last year, isn't American?

See his ranting [here].

"Forgery or fraud may have been committed," says Arpaio. Ooooh no! Are ghosts and goblins real, too, Sheriff Arpaio? How about the Loch Ness Monster? Do you go visit old Nessie on your days off from enforcing the laws of Arizona?

In all seriousness, this is vile racism plain and simple. In a place like Arizona, it's no surprise -- after all, many politicians there (including Arpaio) hold rather Draconian views on immigration -- and it's disgusting. And it's getting old fast.

For all you doubters for whom book learning was apparently a challenge, here are the facts: President Barack Obama was born in Honolulu on August 4, 1961. He has produced both a certificate of live birth during the 2008 campaign and the long-form certificate last year. Neither has been disproved.

So why is this still going on? Arpaio seems like a joke, but, according to Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt, Republican Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney doesn't think so. Yesterday LaBolt tweeted:

Romney has called Arpaio for his endorsement, his aides called "weekly" and Arpaio was his honorary Chair in 08.
That's embarrassing. The fact is, most people agree Arpaio is a few cards shy of a full deck, but here we are still talking about him. Is this an alternate universe? Why am I guessing this guy is the type of person who stays at parties hours after they have ended asking for more chips and guacamole? Dude, the party is over, the ship has sailed, and you are beating a dead horse.

Sadly, there aren't enough cliched ways to say IT'S OVER to make it any clearer to this guy.

Good point. Not to mention the blood and carnage if the cat fell in the water.

Good morning. My knees are a little better today, but I have ice on them at the moment. I will try walking a little later on, without crutches. (YAY, ME!) My legs were a little painful durning the night, but I would just take some ibuprofin so I could get back to sleep.

My house needs to be cleaned, but I will do a little at a time. I found a pair glasses that are 18 years old that are perfect for the computer, but I can’t see beyond that. LOL!

Now that’s variability in your vision! Let me know when you decide to order your new glasses.

We’re cleaning here. I put Ash’s bed out on the sidewalk, and she’s resting in the sun. We’ve also had the dryer-duct cleaner this morning, so now the clothes will dry more quickly.

Actually, all I have to do is take the frames in and pay the guy and the lenses will be ready in an hour.

That will be such a relief! Then I will just have to save the pennies until I can get the sunglasses. LensCrafters was having a sale of two pair of lenses for half off, but the small print said you had to pay for two pairs of frames. HAH! I’m sure the glasses I found in the community room weren’t there by accident...

The Stig is back to his ol’ happy little self, now and I’m so glad. I don’t mind the feathers so much as I miss hearing him sing. Especially when he sits in the corner closest to me and sings for me.

He’s funny. I usually have a glass of instant breakfast in the morning, and as soon as I open the fridge door it’s like he’s saying: Wait! Don’t forget my leaves! My leaves! Get the LEAVES!! He really loves that bok choy! LOL!

Someone in the homeschool association is trying to give away a parakeet. I assume they’ll get a taker, but it won’t be us! Maybe if we didn’t have all the mammals and reptiles ...

Since I rescue them, i try to keep them for at least a year and give them a chance at normal lives, but not everyone can or wants to do that. But that’s where I come in. They aren’t very messy, but they do require care and socializing, and most people don’t realize that when they take on the responsibility.

Much like any other exotic small pet, I guess.

Have you tried Aleve? For me it’s a miracle drug.

That stuff makes me sicker than a dog. It has naprosyn in it and naprosyn doesn’t like me at all. But thanks for the suggestion.

With CFIDS, I have to be really careful what I take. What is a normal dose for “you” may be an overdose for me, it may not affect me at all, or it may mimic the symptoms of what I’m trying to relieve. Just the way it goes.

:o])

I took it for two and a half weeks for arthritis. It didn’t do much of anything, and my stomach was such a mess it was a year before I recovered.

There are several drugs that I can’t take and that on is at the top of the list. The worst thing is, it makes me faint. But I know what you mean about it messing up your stomach. Unngh!

If we had no other pets except the fish, a bird might be interesting. However, we’re not the most suitable environment for a delicate animal, especially one which can hear! (This is usually not an issue for reptiles.)
