Lynn D. Buck Compton, an Army paratrooper whose World War II service was portrayed in the book and HBO miniseries Band of Brothers and who later as a prosecutor secured a conviction of Robert F. Kennedy assassin Sirhan Sirhan, died Feb. 26 at his home in Burlington, Wash. He was 90.
He had complications from a heart attack, said his daughter Syndee Compton. Mr. Compton retired in 1990 as a judge on the California Courts of Appeal.

Apologize if this was already posted. Can't say enough about these true American heros. RIP.
For what it's worth - anyone who hasn't read the book Band of Brothers by Ambrose should drop whatever they're reading and pick it up. The HBO miniseries is excellent too, but the book is better. JMHO.

Sad to hear this. When I lived in Colorado close to where the 10th Mt. Division trained I found out my old house was a red cross weekend home that soldiers would visit for a home cooked meal and some company during WW2.
The gal that lived there during that time contacted me and we had several dinners for some of the remaining living vets during the early 90’s at the house for them. It was a pleasure to host them and hear their stories.

I’ve not read the book, but we own the DVD. It’s exceptionally well done.

We recently watched it for the third or fourth time. We bought it because it’s one of those stories that we will watch again and again.

Very cool that he is still working. I particularly loved the character that Damian Lewis played, Major Richard D. Winters, but there were so many excellent actors it’s really impossible to choose one, and I can’t think of any that were not completely believable in their roles..
This is interesting..both Richard Speight, Jr and Damian Lewis are going to be in another mini-series that will be about the Civil War, titled “To Appomattox”.
