For what it's worth - anyone who hasn't read the book Band of Brothers by Ambrose should drop whatever they're reading and pick it up. The HBO miniseries is excellent too, but the book is better. JMHO.

Sad to hear this. When I lived in Colorado close to where the 10th Mt. Division trained I found out my old house was a red cross weekend home that soldiers would visit for a home cooked meal and some company during WW2.
The gal that lived there during that time contacted me and we had several dinners for some of the remaining living vets during the early 90’s at the house for them. It was a pleasure to host them and hear their stories.
