Once Upon a Secret: My Affair with President John F. Kennedy and Its Aftermath by Mimi Alford

(Pause now for Chris Matthews patented spit-take.)
I guess he didn’t get that tingly feeling up his leg. I bet he whished that He had given Jack the Oral work.....
How is JFK a hero?
He got us into a disastrous fiasco in Cuba that got 5000 killed and ended in a miserable failure - this in his first 100 days in office.
He followed that up by sending 17,000 boys into Vietnam and we know how that brainstorm ended... he got whacked and his handpicked successor, LBJ continued his policy getting more than 60,000 American boys killed and more than a million asians killed for nothing... a monumental failure of unprecedented proportions...
All that while he was molesting girls in the Whitehouse...
Some hero.
The Kennedy’s are all scum.
I have no problem believing her accusation. It is in the Kennedy DNA.
As much as I despise Chrissy, there is nothing in the body of that post that supports that headline.
JFK is a very typical democrat hero!!!
Why would Chris Matthews write a book? He answered a great question with a dumb question. Mimi Alford actually knew the man, Chris Matthews never met the man!
Good book title. Any heroism in the real JFK is elusive. The man was a liberal scum, who treated women like dirt and did a terrible job with almost everything that happened in his brief presidency. He was a slightly better person than Bill Clinton and a much better leader than Barack Obama, but that is not saying much.
“Shut Up!”, he explained.
Nothing revealing here. Chris Matthews considers Bill Ayers and Van Jones heroes.
If Mimi Alford had spoken up while Kennedy was still in office, this year her family would be observing the 50th anniversary of her death.
Is that French for "jimmy"?
I don't recall. Have there been any kiss and tell books written about:
Richard Nixon
Gerald Ford
Ronald Reagan
George Bush Sr.
George W. Bush
Rick Santorum ?
Find a more heroic hero, Chris.
What gives with this Matthews guy anyway? Why does he keep getting crushes on men--and very mediocre men at that?
There are heroic people in the world--men, women, and children--but John Kennedy was not one of them.
When I was a boy--7 or 8 years old--Tarzan was my hero. But when I became a man I put away childish things. Tarzan was fiction. So is the John Kennedy that Chris Matthews seems to idolize.
Matthews is stuck in a time warp. He and Clinton are typical of those who came of age in the “Kennedy Era.” Matthews joined Kennedy’s glamorous Peace Corps; Clinton followed a political career. They are still star struck, 50 years later, and can’t get over it.
The kennedys were a bunch of sickos sharing and trading women around and JFK’s wife was a weak, pathetic woman.
when in fact, it was already noted by a NYTimes article from 2005.
so, could matthews be a plagiarist ?
In all fairness, the headline by Daily Caller is dishonest.
Chris Matthews did not in any way discourage the intern from speaking or sharing her story. And he called the facts horrific or some similar term. He did not deny them.
All he did was express his opinion that he did not know why she wrote the book and that he thought it wouldn’t sell.
I can’t stand Chris Matthews, personally, but fair is fair. I don’t respect dishonest, sensational headlines any more from Daily Caller than I do when they come from the left.
