Weekly Sci-Fi Thread (02/19/12)
Monday:
9/8 -- Alcatraz -- Fox
Wednesday:
10/9 -- Prophets of SciFi -- Science Channel
Friday:
9/8 -- Fringe -- Fox
I like both versions of Top Gear. They’re different enough so its not like watching the same show with accents. The American version does the kind of crap I might have done in my youth.
The Walking Dead is on tonight as well. Never thought I’d like it but I got kind of drawn in and they could lose the zombies and I’d still watch.
How about The River on ABC?
I’ll stick with the Brits. TG on History doesn’t really work for me.
I am intrigued by Alcatraz and look forward to the next episode.
Those Librarian movies that TNT made years back were on today. I liked those for the most part.
Awake starts March 1 on NBC. It is about a guy who had an accident. Each time he sleeps and awakes, he awakes in a reality where he wife was killed in the wreck or a reality where his son was killed.
Full Episode is available (free and legal) on NCB.com and Hulu.com.
I watched the 7-minute trailer and then the full episode. It has potential.
I didn’t watch The River. It just didn’t grab my interest.
I liked the LIbrarian movies. I guess they aren’t making anymore.

Nice to see Jason Isaacs in a role other than Lucius Malfoy from Harry Potter.
The latest star trek movie is on fx right now
I watched the new Star Trek flick the other day. I liked it and I’m glad they didn’t cling to strictly to the whole star trek history.
There’s so little really good Sci Fi these days.
If you’re a true Sci Fi fan, I suggest “Pandorum”. Its been playing on the SyFy channel lately. The critics didn’t like it. They said it was for true sci fi fans so I really liked it. It left me thinking.
I like the Walking Dead also. I thought the last episode of 2011 was great and the ending was excellent.
I think I’ve been waiting for an explanation of the “Observers” for quite some time. I was blown away by the last scene where both Olivia AND Nina Sharp are being held captive.
Why would anyone in network TV land make good movies?
This is something you might like that sums up TV Executive mentalities well.

We started out with the "real" universe and the "Walternate" universe, where Walternate was the "bad guy." We're now in a "prime" universe pair (where Peter didn't survive at all), and as we saw, in the "Walternate Prime" universe, Walternate is a good guy, while the chief scientist for the government/Massive Dynamics was one of the "new" shape shifters. I think that Nina Sharp in the "Walternate Prime" universe is behind the evil, and she crossed over secretly and has been working to unite all the different Olivias for some nefarious reason.
