I like both versions of Top Gear. They’re different enough so its not like watching the same show with accents. The American version does the kind of crap I might have done in my youth.
The Walking Dead is on tonight as well. Never thought I’d like it but I got kind of drawn in and they could lose the zombies and I’d still watch.
How about The River on ABC?
Awake starts March 1 on NBC. It is about a guy who had an accident. Each time he sleeps and awakes, he awakes in a reality where he wife was killed in the wreck or a reality where his son was killed.
Full Episode is available (free and legal) on NCB.com and Hulu.com.
I watched the 7-minute trailer and then the full episode. It has potential.
I didn’t watch The River. It just didn’t grab my interest.

The latest star trek movie is on fx right now
Here’s a question for everyone on the SF thread...
I just watched Star Trek (the new version) by JJ Abrams on FX for about the third time. Every time I’ve seen it before, there’s been something bothering me about the movie, and I just put my finger on it... Two things actually.
Number one, they’ve gone completely overboard with the lens flare, moving zooms, and in/out focus, handheld effects that were pioneered on Firefly and used to great effect in both Firefly AND Battlestar Galactica. But it seems like EVERY scene, including internal scenes on the bridge of the Enterprise had ridiculous amounts of lens flare and reflections that I found more and more annoying.
The second thing that really bothered me was the tight shot/quick shift maneuver that Michael Bay seems to love, especially in his Transformers movies, which IMHO, make those movies nearly unwatchable. It’s almost as if the cameraman has ADD and the style is really annoying to me.
It wouldn’t surprise me to learn that the way that movie was shot could induce seizures in some people!
Anybody else feel the same way, or am I just “out of step?”
