We think fallen Marines and perhaps supporting sailors should go on fantails before random victims,

They need to go back to naming ships by folks who are deceased. No I don’t want Gabby dead for goodness sakes, but I liked it better when ships were named after the death of the namesake.

I wonder what the ship’s motto will be - ‘eternal vigilance against right-wing hate’?

If Giffords and her husband were any kind of honorable people, they’d decline the offer to have a ship named after her, knowing full-well there are others far more worthy of the honor.

Uhh Oh! This military folks are probably going to be court marshaled for speaking against Saint Gabby. She is the new Martin Luther King Jr. in that you can not speak of them in anything less than hushed and reverent tones or you risk the wrath of the PC police.

Welcome to former America. So stupid worrying about primaries and delegate counts, IMO.

If the Leftists get their way we’ll be seeing ships with names such as USS Marx, USS Lenin, USS Stalin, USS Mao, USS Amin, USS Engels, USS Hegel, USS Bin Laden, USS Muhammed, et al.

Oh, it’s going to get worse. Just imagine when they name an aircraft carrier the U.S.S. Bill Clinton or even gasp, the U.S.S. Barrack Obama. Oh, it’s going to happen. You can count on it!

The naming of Naval vessels is now on par with the naming of highways and bridges and post offices - Oh wait! Those are disappearing.

I guess they could make a USS Whitney Houston - it would be a world-class ship, a flagship like no other - at least for a couple of years .... then it would sink itself.

Admiral Worthington should know the Navy is led by the butt pirate Ray Mabus of Mississippi.

The naming of Naval vessels is now on par with the naming of highways and bridges. Don't forget schools too.
But don't forget that the nasty Tea Party put that bullet in her head . . . or did you forget? So, she's a lefty icon.
With any luck, they'll paint it pink.

I agree with Retired Rear Admiral George Worthington. This is P.C. crappolla! Why not name our ships after famous battles or men and women who sacraficed themselves in battle? This is the Twilight Zone....Can’t wait for the U.S.S. Richard Simmons!
To: servo1969
They should not name this after her. There are people more worthy of this honor that put their lives on the line to keep us safe.
I bet there is a garbahe scow they can name after Pelosi. The SS Botox, or the BS Garbitch Scow. Just sayin....

Here is the issue. There are a lot of dead Marines out there whose names could go on anything that appears to be an amphibious ship,
And many knew full well that bullets would be flying when they went to work that day.

This is just more baloney put out by the Democrats to take attention off of their mishandling of the economy.

If all these narcissistic politicians want their names on something, lets put their names on bombs, missiles and bullets. They are cheaper and plentiful, and we can save the naming of bigger items like ships, bases and planes for real heroes.
