For some reason I have had very good luck growing Jalapeno peppers and basically any type of hot pepper but my bell peppers have been a disappointment. I did have good results with some Pimiento Peppers last year they were beautiful big red ones. Pick them green and they are the same as a green bell pepper.
I roasted them in the oven and peeled the skins off and then caned them. I use them for color and slight flavor in stir fries and such.
Roasted and peeled.

The pimientos are the best for stuffing with cream cheese and crab or what have you, wrap in bacon and grill. Nice figs..... brown turkey? Mission? Wrap those babies in bacon and grill, too!
I’m going to get another pimiento plant this year, thanks for reminding me. They’re so full and pretty.

Southern California; Northern California; Oregon; and now, South Dakota,: the sweeter the pepper, the worse it does for me, even planted right next to the hotter ones.
I try every trick in the book, but always the same: the hotter they are, the bigger they get & the more of them there are.
