My oldest son, Michael (Mick) who just turned 27 last month, has been a Type 1 Diabetic with zero pancreatic function (and all the complications which that implies) since he was 12 years old.
About an hour ago, we received a call from the IU Medical Center Transplant Team, where he has been on the recipient list for about a year. They have a possible donor.
Mick is now en route to Indianapolis to begin the pre-op at 7AM.
Your prayers would be appreciated for both my son and for the salvation of the soul of the potential donor, who has just passed from this life.
prayers are up and running
Thank You.
mucho prayers.
My son is 28 and dittos.
And more prayer back for your son - may he be well as well.
Stay calm God IS in charge now. IU med center has a wonderful staff. They take care of the patient and the family. Ask and you shall receive.
If you need any specific prayers let us know.
Much love and all blessings to you and your son. I am praying many, many prayers that all goes as smooth as silk as every aspect of this opportunity unfolds. Take care and, as you can find the time, let us know how things are going.
More prayers on the way.
Your son is in my prayers, along with the repose of the soul of the donor. (awkward to phrase, but great, just the same)
Thank you all!
My most sincere and heartfelt prayers go out to your son, your entire family and the potential donor’s family as well. My Mom was diagnosed diabetic at 18 mos. old (in 1940) - she received a kidney transplant when I was a Jr. in High School (Christmas Day, 1988). I remember well all the emotions.
May God hold all of you in his embrace and may you all be blessed with the peace that surpasses all understanding. I will be thinking of all of you (and the teams of doctors as well). May this person and family’s gift bring the gift of life and good health to as many people as possible - most especially for your son.
Most sincerely,
LR
Prayers up and continuing for Michael, for you and the rest of your family, and for the wonderful donor and family.
Thank you both.
I feel like the prayers of FReepers are helping already!
Pinging a few folks to this important prayer thread so they can help get the word out to as many FReeper Prayer Warriors as possible!
May God keep you and your family in his loving arms with great healing for your son......
Prayers brother...
Thank you.
Sincere thanks.
Thanks to each and every one of you!
I’ll be off line for a bit, but I appreciate all your prayers.
This is going to be quite a day!
Wow.
