Tonight, Florida disappointed me. I thought Florida was a Conservative state but it isn't..

Santorum is splitting the vote .Without him it would be nearly tied right now.
In Florida you have to be a member of the party to vote in the primaries . Since most people feel that 0 already has the ticket for the Democrats I would not be surprised if we have a lot of Democrats that changed their party affiliation just to do this here again.
(it’s the blue counties that are keeping Romney’s numbers up)
To that you also have to add that the snow birds that spend the cool months of the year here are here right now and those people vote here and no one bothers to check if they vote again when they go home.
I feel the same way about people who laughably proclaime Newt as a champion for Conservatives.
They saw what happened to our Att. General Bill McCollum when he ran for Governor in 2010. Rick Scott spent $70,000,000 and buried him. All the Republican Politians went with the highest bidder. So did all our pundits and leaders. Only Jim Robinson stood strong and sorted and Zotted this place to sanity. He personally straighten me out about Mitt last summer. Florida is filled with people who came down here with a dream and now sit here with a lot of broken dreams.
Mark Steyn can genuinely kiss my dog ... His typical attempts at cynical comic relief ... to boost his radio ratings at Newts expense ... are pathetic ... Bain Capital and ClearChannel will reward the likes of scumbags like Mark Steyn when Rush kicks the bucket someday ... sooner than people want to think ... You are delusional. Santorum voters would NOT all go to Newt. Figure a 60-40 split at most in Newt’s favor.
Thanks for your post. I have been saying the same thing. Not all Santorum votes are going to Newt. Most recent polls show it right at 50/50 split. Everyone here said if Bachman gets out, Newt will win. If Perry gets out, Newt will win. And now they are saying if Santorum gets out, Newt will win. No so, according to recent data. In fact, without Santorum, Mitt probably wraps this up by Super Tuesday.
And besides, this is really a pointless argument. The old “iffing” game never works. It is what it is. If Newt can’t win with Santorum, he can;t win the general election anyway. And if Newt can;t handle Romney’s negative campaigning, then he can’t handle OBama’s negative campaign monster in the fall. I guarantee, Obama will rip Newt or Mitt 100 times harder than what is going on in the primaries.

We were bombarded with negative campaign mail from Romney. They were full of lies and innuendos and I just tossed them. I got 2 or 3 a day on average for the last month. A lot of people probably looked at them and because there were so many they might have believed all they said.
FL a conservative State well guess there goes that theory.
Romney Scorched earth worked. Newt has to dig deeper, it is gonna be a long time till Super Tuesday gets here. Then some of us real conservative states get to way back in.
I guess to most Floridian their vote was for sale.
I don’t believe illegal aliens and retired NYC teachers actually vote in the GOP Primary.
That’s what makes the Presidential elections such a fiasco, the people who vote probably haven’t voted for four years or even thought about politics. They don’t have a clue other than what they hear from the media. And we all know how fair and balanced the media is.

Thanks for this info. I just knew that must be the problem, i.e., that Florida is now New York “lite”. Just too many northern retirees and libs have taken over.
IMO, the debate where NBC demanded silence from audience sucked all the life out of the Gingrich momentum coming out of South Carolina.
He never recovered from that and had a less-than-spectacular second debate as well because of it.
NBC KILLED GINGRICH’S MOMENTUM. FU NBC, MSM, BRIAN WILLIAMS.
Those who now populate most of South Florida were not born there and very few natives remain...it is full of foreigners or former residents of NYC (Wasserman-Schultz types) and other parts north of the Mason-Dixon line. They brought their ideology, their crankiness, and their corrupted, crappy form of government to a formerly fun place to live.
They are creeping northward into Central and North Central Florida.
