Thanks for your post. I have been saying the same thing. Not all Santorum votes are going to Newt. Most recent polls show it right at 50/50 split. Everyone here said if Bachman gets out, Newt will win. If Perry gets out, Newt will win. And now they are saying if Santorum gets out, Newt will win. No so, according to recent data. In fact, without Santorum, Mitt probably wraps this up by Super Tuesday.
And besides, this is really a pointless argument. The old “iffing” game never works. It is what it is. If Newt can’t win with Santorum, he can;t win the general election anyway. And if Newt can;t handle Romney’s negative campaigning, then he can’t handle OBama’s negative campaign monster in the fall. I guarantee, Obama will rip Newt or Mitt 100 times harder than what is going on in the primaries.

Yes but in the Gen election Newt won’t be stabbed by his own party, i.e. if you can consider romney and the E his own party. It will be just Newt vs obama, not Newt vs the media, the E and romney and Santorum .............
