President Barack Obama met with former President George H.W. Bush and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in the Oval Office on Friday--a visit not put on his public schedule later described as "personal" by the White House.

Maybe it is quid pro quo time. We pulled Clinton's bones out of the gutter heap of history and now we expect you to pull GWB's bones out of the trash heap of history. We have kept our mouth's shut about you and can continue to help you but you must resurrect the Bush legacy by stopping the attacks on GWB and finding a way to lift him up in the public's eyes or else.
The interesting thing would be if he didn't comply and out came the or else. That might be helpful. Maybe Obama is thick headed and proud, too use to and loving the old Bush's fault thing to change and then out will come the or else.
I hope this really didn’t happen. There can’t possibly be a good, rational reason for this visit to take place.
I am 52 and this is not the America I grew up in. The things that we did then are illegal now, try riding in a car w/o seatbelts or lay up by the back glass in a car. Try riding in the back of a pickup truck, standing up and dodging bugs. If we were caught by another parent doing something wrong, you were marched home and then you got in trouble from your parents. Spanking was still legal in school, we respected our teachers and the principle.
I remember how America used to be, it’s sad watching it become a socialist country after all the freedom we had.
Maybe it is about Georgia’s ballot qualification problem Obama has.
The problem for Rinos is that if they work to cover up and obstruct justice for Obama in the face of court decisions, they become official abettors to the crimes of Obama’s and the DNC’s fraud. It’s treason.
Ruling like criminals who decided they are above the constitution and rule of law, is stressful and risky.
But wait! I thought 0bama was a Kennedy brother. Maybe now that Kennedy is no longer here, 0bama needs a new daddy.
I still think it was about Obama trying to enlist aid and advice about getting Ray LaHood’s kid out of egypt in one piece. They don’t seem to be making much headway on that issue.
I think the detail that makes it of interest is that the son he brings with him is the son who was Governor of Florida and the Florida primary is very important and very near. The son who was President didn’t come, which would have made it more of a “former Presidents’ meeting” type of thing.
This meeting should be recorded and made public. There’s not one thing Jeb Bush needs to know that I don’t. Man, this country is gone if something doesn’t happen quick!
I regret voting for mccain. I’m proud I didn’t vote for GHW Bush.
BINGO.

Bush senior was head of the CIA in the past. ???????????????
Exactly! President GHW Bush is attending the ANNUAL Alfalfa Club Dinner in Washington. He is 87 and in a wheelchair and his son Jeb is accompanying him. Since they were in town they were invited to visit the WH. All very innocent.
Many FReepers are still proudly posting without reading what they are posting about.
GHWB was there to describe how it feels to be a one termer.
How old is Bush, Sr, do you reckon? He must be in his late 80’s or 90’s by now.
Makes Kissinger look like Nostradamus.
Needs the Saudis onboard.
Probably correct. Also, they likely discussed January, 2017 transition planning. :)
As P. T. Barnum used to say: "There's a sucker born every minute."
Ol' P.T. must have had a lot of foresight....over a hundred years ago, he knew YOU were obviously going to be posting on the Free Republic on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 2:01:39 AM.
Psssssss...Robot....I think I know how you came up with your screen name.
The elder Bush may be ill and Obama was probably just asking him to put off dying until after the election. Of course being a Bush I’m sure they would probably do whatever Obama asked.
I stand by my opinion and if you would read the article you might agree. However, if not, why can’t you disagree without being so insulting about it? That is a liberal trait.
We live in a world where Mary Matalin married James Carville, and went through nine months of pregnancy and a day of labor to deliver their child. What does that tell you about this nation’s political differences among its shakers and movers? Do you really think that’s ever going to change?
