Many Americans are becoming disgusting.Yes. Sometimes it seems that is the norm, rather than the exception.

We saw Artist too and liked it.I would watch it again. Very powerful, moving picture with just the right balance of drama and laughs.

It’s the pits! We can’t get the player link you provided to work on the computer that pipes through the house. I can get it to work on my PC, but it only has speakers in one room.
WAMU’s website was not broken; they should not have “fixed” it (as you noted).

Evening, all........

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

I have heard that "My Week with Marilyn" was good. I usually don't go to many movies, but there are a few currently that I'd like to see, and actually a few that I have seen recently.
For me "The Iron Lady" was a disappointment, and I don't understand filming the movie from the perspective of an aged, hallucinating, Mrs. Thatcher. It did inspire me to order a biography of Mrs. Thatcher at Amazon.
"Melancholia" was interesting, although I could have walked out in the beginning, and I've never walked out on a movie. But it got better.
I've actually seen "The Artist" twice at the Tampa Theatre .... which is an extraordinary venue.

I listen through the pc using microsoft media player and on a wifi radio in another room. The radio was not working because it works from a stream through the website, but the link in post 3 does work if used on the radio. We should send emails to WAMU.

Yes, WAMU needs to hear from us.
We did finally get Keith’s laptop working. It needed a reboot and a disc cleanup. We’re tuned in all over the house now.

By decree I declare the official dessert of the BB are Dove Magnum Double Chocolate Bars. It's a perfect fit. Pick some up at your local supermarket today! I've got boxes of 'em.

OH, YUMMMM!!!! They look delicious! I concur for the BB Official Dessert!
Coincidentally, I just made a batch of my “famous” chocolate chip cookies. They are the best CC cookies you ever put in your mouth, guaranteed!

To get high quality audio into a home hifi system, I generally run Slimserver to feed a V2 Squeezebox. See here for info. This is principally for stored music but which can also play streaming internet music (the latter as mp3 files as pls- or apx- (streaming mp3) or as straight mp3 files. The Squeezebox output is via stereo RCA plugs to the home's hifi system.
However, a number of stations that used to stream on the web as normal mp3 have lately switched to flash player which can generally only be played onboard via your computer speakers. However, there is a workaround ...providing that your computer has a digital audio output (SPDIF) on your sound card. This can be either an optical or coax (RCA connection) ...and... if that audio can be set at the soundcard to PCM (which is a digital stereo wave form).
If so, you can buy a $28 FiiO D3 which is digital audio input (optical or RCA wired) to RCA stereo output converter. This will provide a high quality audio to your hifi system of whatever is playing on your computer. (You can generally turn down the master volume control to mute your computer speakers ...but... you can not use the mute button as it will also turn the digital audio output off.)

Thanks. For some reason WMP would not open. Reboot fixed it. I just run audio out of the laptop to CD in on the tuner. Works great.

Thanks, DickMc. My husband’s was the last comment to you. He’s an electronic engineer, and our computer audio stuff works pretty well, except for the occasional computer *burp*.

It's chilly outside. Lows in the 20's tonight, down here in Alabammy - even
I'd bring in my brass monkey. But I snagged a fresh picnic ham the size of a basketball for $11 last week, and just spent the last three hours hickory smoking it in Big Red (the old charcoal barrel smoker I bought waaaaay back when I lived in Falls Church - there are some things a gas grill just can't do as well). Red's seen it all, whether it be on the hoof, on the fly, or in the lake. Together, we've been through venison and back. So, I'm just sitting here, wine glass in hand, listening to a little radio while the new electric roaster finishes it off to the point where I can apply generous amounts of honey to glaze it to perfection. Care for dinner? Green beans, corn, and potatoes in ham broth on the side?

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. Viking, if we had a Gulfstream, a pilot and lots of money, we would be there in half an hour (I guess it wouldn’t take long to get there from the MS Gulf Coast). We would LOVE to join in your dinner! It’s dropping to about 40 degrees here right now, with a low near freezing.
Instead of being able to hang out with y’all, I’m baking us a Stouffer’s lasagna with a stir-fry frozen mixed vegetable on the side and my chocolate chip cookies for dessert (a rare thing to have dessert here)—plus Natural Light beer for our usual “appetizer” before dinner. (Our charcoal smoker grill is also a staple here at our house, even though it’s almost burned out at this point!)
