Sorry about the vanity, but I’ve been thinking about this for several days. I have mostly democrat family members. The problem is that they are not liberal. Things they say and post prove that they are conservative in thought, but (unlike me who saw the light) still believe they are democrats. They only pay attention during election cycles and get all their political information from the LSM and late night comedians.
Here is a list of what I came up with.
You might be a conservative (or republican) if…..
You believe that a “woman’s right to choose” ends after she chooses to have sex
You believe that a “woman’s right to choose” should include choosing to protect herself with a gun, choose which school her child should be able to attend, choose what food she eats, etc.
You believe that it’s a baby, not a clump of cells
You believe that EVERYONE’S taxes should be lowered
You believe that you know how to spend your money better than the government does
You believe that government is not the answer
You believe that in some instances, war IS the answer
You believe that we don’t need cradle to grave “care” from the government
You believe that everyone should be responsible for their own actions
You believe that if someone had a crappy childhood, they should be punished accordingly if they decide to go on a murderous rampage
You believe that whenever the government gets involved in anything, suddenly the price goes up and the quality goes down (healthcare)
You that believe that if people want the government to stay the hell out of their bedroom, it needs to stay the hell out of my kitchen
You believe that the first amendment protects the freedom OF religion, not the freedom FROM religion
You believe that the first amendment also protects everyone’s free speech, even if they disagree with you
You believe that if people choose to exercise their right to free speech by turning off, not attending, boycotting, etc., that’s their right and it’s not censorship
You believe that the second amendment does not only apply to law enforcement, military, politicians and rich people
You believe that “gun control” is all about how you hold your firearm
You KNOW that there is nothing in the Constitution about the “separation of church and state”
You believe that if you are required by your employer to take random drug tests to keep your job, then welfare recipients should be required to take random drug tests in order to receive your tax dollars
You believe that we should not be having 4th, 5th and 6th generations of families on the public dole
You believe that if you can afford to have an iphone, $100 sneakers, satellite dish, and a new car parked outside your government-subsidized housing, you should not be getting government-subsidized housing
You believe that the most qualified person should be hired no matter the color of their skin or last name
You don’t believe in quotas
You believe in LEGAL immigration
You believe we should be profiling when looking for terrorists
....that you at first thought The Rainbow Coalition was the paint dealers booth at the Home Improvement Trade Show....
My mother was a MENSA and a life long demonRAT, in fact, was a county poo-bah.
If you sat her down with a pencil and paper and axed her the series that you outlined in your vanity, she was 99.97% conservative, BUT, she voted 100% demonRAT.
No logic, no reason, just good old fashioned religion, Jesus Christ, FDR, Harry Truman and JFK {and in her book, Jesus was fourth}.
Again, no logic, no reason, just emotion and she voted demonRAT for two elections after she died.
It took me four years to get her name removed from the voter rolls.
You think that since minorities are disproportionally represented in the American prison population, that the Police and Justice Systems are racist, but the reason why a lot more men are in prison than women is because men commit most of the crimes.
If after 10 years on FreeRepublic, Jim hasn't run your ass off!
I am silly this way, but I believe that if you do not pay taxes, you should not have the right to vote.
I believe if you take another life, ole Sparky should be fired up.

You understand that the Constitution was written expressly to limit the government and anything that removes those limits or seeks to, is, on it's face, unconstitutional.

OK, I just got off the lesbian/gay post so I'm confused. Hell I've now got to...never mind...
That reminds me of when a black man accused me of being racist when I yelled at him to stop approaching me (quickly from behind a fence while I was alone). I told him I wasn’t racist, but that I was sexist.
When faced with people who think they are Democrats but really NOT lib crazies, I use Rush’s technique - illustrate absurdity by being absurd.
For instance, when a family member says, I can’t imagine the evil republicans ever winning again, the correct answer is - “You’re right - Open those borders! Everyone should vote! That’s what Obama does! Love the man!” Then watch the doubletake.
Or when they say, We should all have free health care, the correct answer is (If you have medicare!) “I Do - thank you so much! Do you know your taxes paid for my bills last year? Thanks so much! Thanks for picking it all up - I could never have afforded all those thousands of dollars on my own!”
