Beck: The Hemorrhoid is bursting on radio (Vanity)

Posted on 01/23/2012 7:01:53 AM PST by AdamBomb

I was just listening to Beck on air this morning. He is sarcastically thanking South Carolina for giving us a candidate who has "no way in hell of winning against Obama."

The Hemorrhoid is about to burst.

Look for more Republicans to have nervous breakdowns today.

I can’t listen anymore.
When Glenn and his crew talked at the same time it as a confusing noise, I turned the dial.
Now he is unbearable.

I kind of think being Mormon is “Bad” if one is Republican. Harry Reid is Mormon and the media doesn't give a hoot.

I don't think Freepers think "Mormon" when they think Romney. I think McCain.

If you were around when Bush was running, you will recognize the pattern. This forum is all in for Newt. Any other choice is an attack on the establishment. No matter that the race is not over, or that Romney or Paul will be better Presidents. The attacks will continue. If you are not for us, obviously you are against us. How is this different than the Democrat style arguments? Zero...as in 0 bama.

Religious bigotry is one thing, however, please do some research on Mormons / cults / mind control, etc. No, I’m NOT wearing a tin-foil hat but have personally been involved with a family member that was drug into the Mormon debacle and is still struggling. Never have seen or been involved in anything like this in my life before this happened.

I don’t think Mittens is that extreme, but I didn’t see this other coming either. NO way will I vote for Mittens, based on my personal involvement.

Also, Mittens is THE establishment candidate, just as McCain was. Romneybots working for McCain were the ones who trashed Sarah Palin - facts, man, just the facts. SHE knows this and that’s why she is quietly trying to steer people away from Mittens and smartly saying that we should not alienate Ron Paul supporters who we need desperately to beat zippy. Paul has threatened to go third party. THAT would be our ruination. So much is at stake here - the very heart of our being.

Think smart - work smart - Newt has fire in his belly to beat zippy. The Tea Party is NOT dead, we’re sick of being pushed down by the establishment GOP like bonehead, Michael Steele, Karl Rove and all the others. Time to step up and take our country back. Newt would not have been my first choice but I’ll be there in a heartbeat before I’ll be for Mittens. So, don’t count this as religious bigotry, please.

I wonder why people, who for years thought that Beck was on point about nearly everything he said, now think he's suddenly so stupid. And why folks, who just a few months ago thought that a Newt candidacy was a bad joke, now see him as the second coming. What's happened to make Beck so wrong and newt so right?

Newt is unelectable. He will not win support from independents or women. He will not. He could be the choice of 100% of the Free Republic, but he will not win.

Think back to 1998...at the height of the impeachment scandal. Who was the most hated man in American politics? Was it the depraved liar in the oval office who was about to be impeached? No. It was Newt Gingrich and conservatives in Congress hated him more than anybody. We're in for a disaster if we allow Newt to be our candidate just because he has managed to get off a few good slaps on a couple of reporters in some stupid debate!

“Man, there is a lot of religious bigotry on Free Republic. I don’t recall that from when I joined. People used to debate issues, and there certainly are enough problems with Romeny to debate.

I also remember when we said charachter mattered (re: Clinton). But judging from all the pro-Newt comments, this appears to have changed, too. I guess we can rationalize anything to suit our ends.”

No.

Your statements only make sense when realizing that you’re in the tank for JEB:

“There are other good people that can be president.”

Agreed, but only a few people are actually running. Jeb is easily better than Mitt and Newt, IMHO.

Beck's radio show was almost the opposite of his former TV FOX show. I had trouble listening to his strange format. Then his TV show went off the deep end, conspiracy claims, the endless chalkboard boredom, I simply quit even considering him as a conservative voice. He demonstrated otherwise.

Both he, and Coulter are finished.

I see no reason why you would apologize. It’s a statement of fact. Both are Mormon. And it’s my opinion that has a lot to do with Beck’s hammering at Newt. In no way do I see that as religious bigotry.

Newt’s Catholic. I’m Lutheran. I’m backing Newt, but was somewhat interested in Santorum after Cain ended his campaign. Santorum’s also Catholic. Romney’s Mormon. No, I will not consider supporting him. But it has nothing to do with his Mormonism. It has everything to do with his policies.

Now, I’d entertain someone trying to label me a religious bigot. Anyone willing to go for it?

Right now Beck is trying to minimize Newt’s SC win. Earlier he was saying that people with their little “Newt for President” buttons couldn’t win a factual argument with Obama supporters.

But Beck has said before that he’s always wrong on politics.
So I wish he’d explain why we should listen to him.

this kind of religious bigotry/hatred did not exist on FR back in the 90's. But then again, most of the people who made FR such a special place for conservative conversation are no longer here.

Yeah...'character counts'. I remember that...used to be a rallying cry for principled conservatives. So sad to learn that so many of them were just hypocrites.

Glenn Beck has an agenda and right now the rest of us are just not in tune with his higher intellect and religious superiority. We are just not listening to the teacher.

PGKDAN - primary voting was up 33% in South Carolina from 2008 when McCain ran. Our side will crawl over glass to elect a true conservative. Newt scored over 40% in SC.

Romney is the one who is unelectable - he can’t inspire anyone to get out there and vote. He is this year’s milquetoast candidate.

Just wait for the Florida vote, you will see. Gingrich is picking up support from key demographic groups (Jews, Latinos, Elderly, leading with women, etc.)

We watched a weak RINO be nice to Obama all the way to his loss in 2008.

We have watched a weak RINO Speaker of the House fold and cave to him for a year now.

We want someone that will go for his throat. We want a real bastard.

I submit to you that Newt Gingrich is such a bastard and Mitt Romney is not. Ron Paul is not. Rick Santorum is not.

NOT ROMNEY 2012

I apologized because my only source of info on the subject was my knowledge of them both being mormons, coupled with my anecdotal experience with mormons I know: They band together behind anyone mormon, sometimes over the top, simply because the person is mormon.

I actually saw a form of that in the Reagan election. I had just become a Christian and started attending church shortly after Reagan became president. I was amazed that so many in this conservative church were dissapointed that Carter had now won.

And then it hit me. I had forgotten that he was the “Christian” candidate.

Religion can be very powerful and trump reason. Sometimes this is a good thing. Sometimes it is disastrous.

Mitt Romney is flaming NE Liberal. That is why he is not getting my vote. That is why he’ll never get my vote.

I also do not have a high opinion of what people have to believe in order to be mormon, but I WOULD vote for one if he or she were a CONSERVATIVE.

If Mitt gets the nomination, we’ll be running the equivalent of John Boehner for President...someone whose goal is tweaking government to make it work. His goal will be passing bills, and making ‘good’ compromises with Congress.

That is how he governed in Mass, and that is NOT what we need now. We need someone Congress & the Press already hates, because President Mitch McConnell would deliver the same as Obama, minus perhaps 1%.

Ironically, Beck has unfortunately marginalized himself so significantly that if he liked Newt the left would hang Beck’s support on Newt as a sign that Newt was too extreme - and the media would help them. I like Beck in general because I think his heart is in the right place and that he means well. That doesn’t mean, however, that I agree with him.

When anything trumps reason, it is always disastrous. That is why we are in the mess we are in because too many things have been allowed to trump reason.

" Glenn Beck has an agenda and right now the rest of us are just not in tune with his higher intellect and religious superiority. We are just not listening to the teacher. "

Well, of course he assumes he has a higher intellect and he's religiously superior...he's going to be a god. /s
