Newt is unelectable. He will not win support from independents or women. He will not. He could be the choice of 100% of the Free Republic, but he will not win.
Think back to 1998...at the height of the impeachment scandal. Who was the most hated man in American politics? Was it the depraved liar in the oval office who was about to be impeached? No. It was Newt Gingrich and conservatives in Congress hated him more than anybody. We're in for a disaster if we allow Newt to be our candidate just because he has managed to get off a few good slaps on a couple of reporters in some stupid debate!
PGKDAN - primary voting was up 33% in South Carolina from 2008 when McCain ran. Our side will crawl over glass to elect a true conservative. Newt scored over 40% in SC.
Romney is the one who is unelectable - he can’t inspire anyone to get out there and vote. He is this year’s milquetoast candidate.
Just wait for the Florida vote, you will see. Gingrich is picking up support from key demographic groups (Jews, Latinos, Elderly, leading with women, etc.)
If Mitt gets the nomination, we’ll be running the equivalent of John Boehner for President...someone whose goal is tweaking government to make it work. His goal will be passing bills, and making ‘good’ compromises with Congress.
That is how he governed in Mass, and that is NOT what we need now. We need someone Congress & the Press already hates, because President Mitch McConnell would deliver the same as Obama, minus perhaps 1%.

My comment:
“Beck is pushing the Libertarian Party..” ~ : DainBramage
True. Right now, he’s another attractive Pied-Piper like Perot was, and in spite of Rush’s warning at the time, many people followed him right over the cliff.
Right now, the “bad-cop” blow-back he’s getting from Levin, along with the “good-cop” blow-back he’s getting from Rush (re playing with the idea of a third party) are both warnings to him to either help us conservatives take back the Republican Party from the RINOS, or he can expect us to turn the “marginalization” heat up even higher on him.
There are only two VIABLE political parties. The way things are set up by these two parties make it an impossibility for a third party to win due to the electoral college. Beck will eventually see the light, heed the warnings and decide to be a team player, or he will self-destruct and wind up a laughing stock.
