New York Giants post game prayer!

After the Giants victory over Green Bay there was a celebration in the post game locker room. Coach Tom Coughlin calls his team in and takes a knee and the Giants follow suit. Someone in the Giant organization saw fit to edit out the prayer and the video cuts to the team raising from their knees.

I guess the Giants front office wouldn't want people and/ or children to get the wrong idea and think the Giants give thanks and praise for protection and victory. /Src.

I am a lifelong Giant fan, I can't put into words how disappointed I am with who ever did this.

Maybe it was a Patton-eque prayer that talked about smiting enemies.

On the other hand, prayer is more properly done with some privacy, IMHO. I am glad to know they prayed AND that it was not put out for media fodder. Giants Fan since 2004.

Idiots out there really need to get over athletes praying.

Most have done it since they were youngsters.

If I was making millions of dollars doing something I loved, I'd pray constantly, thanking the Lord for my good fortune, health and ability.

I am sorry to tell you that I saw the exact same thing the prior week after they won the first playoff game and I had the exact same reaction as you did. However, I seem to recall seeing it on the NFL website, not the Giant’s website, so I assumed it was an NFL decision.

I know they pray which is a good thing to me. Even if they didn't though, I wouldn't be upset, but to know they do, just makes them all the better in my eyes.

I am a seasons ticket holder.

I am also a lifelong Giants fan, and probably longer than you I would guess. (I was AT the '56 Championship Game.) I'm also a reasonably observant person, but I think there is good reason for privacy in these matters. Despite what others think about Tebow, I think he would just as soon not have his religion be made such a big deal. I know about his eyeblack, but I don't see any of this as being any different from someone crossing themself before an at-bat or before a race.

Let it be.

Old school, unhip Tom Coughlin is among the three best head coaches in the NFL.

Most pro athletes have an understanding of the incredible position they are in and are not shy about showing it. We really get to hear about the nuts, trouble makers and showboaters but for every one of them are five very hard working, faithful and honest guys hoping to stay healthy long enough to get paid. I remember when prayers happened after every game on the field and the networks didn’t avoid showing it.

Tebow brought that back.

They say the Lord’s prayer, I have seen it done a number of times on video.

I agree, prayer is personal and public prayer is very short.

They’re praying that they be spared the Wrath of the New York Fans when they lose.
