I've been job hunting for a while, and had to cast my net out in a wider arc. I'm looking at a possiblity in Sioux Falls, SD. I've never been there and never known anyone from there. Is it nice? Full of lefties? etc. Thanks in advance!
Rapid City - right. Sioux Falls - left.
Can you go anywhere? I recommend Annapolis, MD. It is a great town and is conservative since the Naval Academy is here.
Absolutely fabulous place to live, save for one little problem.......... COLD!
Maryland has lousy gun laws. They're only slightly better than NY and NJ.
I’ve never been there. But in true FReeper fashion - that won’t stop me from opining.
DON’T GO THERE!!!
that is all
I’m from Fargo. You’ll find pretty conservative folks anywhere in South Dakota, although like ND, they tend to be even more conservative in the western part of the state. The state government is very conservative and consequently things are going great down there. Of course, things are booming here in North Dakota.
Yeah, and on top of that, the navy has women that kiss on the pier!!!
Honestly, I won’t go East of the Mississippi. I can’t fund a move more than a state or two away anyways.
yeah, and here in the metro detroit area it is a balmy 16 degrees.....
S.Dakota is a nice state. Though I prefer the western 1/2
Well best of luck to you! I hope you find the best ever!!!!
Having lived in Spokane WA and upstate NY, cold doesn’t worry me much...lol
Check out siouxfalls.com. I grew up there and it’s a nice little city. It’s a lot more left than it used to be, but overall a pretty conservative place. Traffic jams are rare, except out by Empire Mall.
My cousin and his family moved their business there 20 years ago to escape Minnesota’s decidedly unfriendly business climate. They love it there. A big plus is no state income tax, though they do charge sales tax on clothes and food.
Don't worry about the cold. It will all be gone in a few years.
Al Gore said so.
The town benefits greatly from Minnesota Tax refugees.
I’ll take your question as an invitation to post this. Good luck on your decision!
Considering Relocating? Think about Colorado Springs
I f you or a CONSERVATIVE person is considering relocating, Id invite you to tell them about this family values oasis.
Id personally suggest Northern Colorado Springs as being the best and the most conservative.
And just to lay my cards on the table, I am not in the Real Estate business and make nothing off anyone moving here. I just know that Soros and others have dumped millions into Colorado and have succeeding in taking over the state government for the first time in decades recently.
The Springs loses out to Denver and Boulder in the state elections but it is still close enough to make a difference.
Pass this along.
18. El Paso County, Colo.
Largest city: Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs is the right-wing stronghold of Colorado. The Air Force Academy and NORAD are based in the county. About 19 percent of the population are civilian veterans, one of the highest rates in the nation. The other conservative influences are social: Focus on the Family is located in Colorado Springs, as are many other parachurch organizations.
Colorado Springs was named by Money Magazine as the best big city to live in 2006.

Outside Magazine just ranking Colorado Springs as the best place to live.

Outside Magazine lists as a drawback that it might be get this TOO CONSERVATIVE for some people.
Colorado Springs consistently ranks as one of the top places to live in financial and lifestyle magazines as well.

I left NYC-Queens—, moved to Texas and have never regretted it.
The Dakotas do intrigue me.
Naps,
I know you are retired Navy, as is my son {Captain} and my daughter both of whom live in Annapolis.
It is a beautiful town and yes the Naval Academy is pretty conservative, but Annapolis is the capitol of Maryland, is crawling with demonRAT lawyers and demoRAT politicians and the demonRAT scum that they attract.
I've met more lefties in the downtown Annapolis bars than in San Francisco {there are more fags in SF}.
Maryland is as blue as Taxachewshits or New Yaark.
