Yeah, I agree. I like the idea of a QB not being a prima donna and he made a good effort. Cutler has a great arm and a porous offensive line. I thought the guy would be dead by the 3rd game from sacks alone. He’s got guts. I just wish he hadn’t reached out. We’ll never know, but I agree with you. They were just starting to peak on a 5 game winning streak. It’s a shame.
In addition, the Patriots are coming off a disappointing 13-3 season and have one of the worst-rated defenses in the league. People are starting to whisper that maybe Belichick has lost his magic touch. Also, Tom Brady has been off his game lately. Might be time for the Pats to start looking for a new QB.
That all said, I'm hoping that the Jets keep brassy loud-mouth Rex Ryan. With the Pats dynasty on the decline, it will be nice to see the Jets have some more of those 8-8 seasons. That way, the Pats can still win the division even if they drop to 11-5 or 10-6 in future years.

Lovie Smith isn’t going anywhere. The Bears traditionally don’t eat large contracts and the owner of the team loves him. Honestly I don’t think he deserves to be fired. He consistently maximizes the talent that Angelo gives him (minimnal). He was in the NFC title game last year and was on a five game winning streak this year on his way to the playoffs before Cutler and Forte went down (their two best players on Offense). If you take a team’s two best players on either side you’re in big trouble. Cutler was playing better than any QB in the league save Aaron Rodgers.
As a Cowboy fan I could accept 8-8 if I believed a plan was in place enabling the team to become a real contender. But as your analysis states, there is no such plan. Jerry really has no idea why the team is so bad, or what to do to fix it.
How much longer will the Dallas Cowboys maintain a national (and international) following with consistent mediocrity? How long until the Cowboys become just another regional market team, akin to the Seahawks, Browns, Falcons or Vikings? The fan base has been amazingly resilient thus far, but will that last?
I can easily see the entire Jones Era summed up as an endless series of seasons between 6-10 and 10-6, the occasional playoff entrance and quick exit, and the gradual but inevitable erosion of the skills of Tony Romo and Jason Whitten as these two champions close out their careers as members of a shockingly average franchise. Frankly I wouldn’t blame either one if they asked to be traded tomorrow. As long as Jerry Jones is in charge, the chances of either going to a Super Bowl are miniscule.

Parcells brought in almost every high-level member of the team. Romo, Miles Austin, Demarcus Ware, Jason Whitten I believe. The success the team enjoyed after PArcell's departure was due almost entirely to his personnel decisions.

You’ve hit on the solution.
Cowboys mediocrity should eventually hit Jerry in the pocketbook. That, in my opinion, may be the only factor that would make him step back and hire grownups to run the franchise.
True, but Romo rode the bench while Drew Bedsore screwed up week after week.

I agree, I don’t think that Lovie should go. I saw that he actually has one of the better win-loss records of active coaches. Angelo and Martz needs to go though. Apparently Martz treats back-up quarterbacks like they are not part of the team and it showed after Cutler went down. Hanie was not ready to compete at the NFL level. I wonder what they are doing in Green Bay though. Flynn looked like a seasoned pro out there. I though Detroit was supposed to have a good defense. Maybe they should go back to playing dirty.
Actually Martz seemed to be the only one who saw that Hanie couldn’t play in the NFL and he was proven correct. Hanie probably played himself out of the league.
Just cannot sit in front of the TV long enough to catch these pontifications, when ever they are on. Thank God for the DVR and fast forward through the commercials during real games.
But one team to watch for next year: the Eagles. This team showed flashes of brilliance this season, and with a full off-season of OTA's and minicamps to "polish up" the team, they could be a huge threat next season.

Tells a lot about how obvious it is that the Bucs Suck from top to bottom. Truth is, the entire Bucs team, management and owners needs to be fired!
