“San Jose Police Detective Matthew Christian created a document, on letterhead that bore the seal of the Santa Clara County Crime Lab, which falsely stated that Michael Kerkeles’s semen was found at the alleged crime scene. The fake report purported to be authored by a technician named ‘Rebecca Roberts.’ Christian then testified under oath that the report was true.

well, I live in Willow Glen and am going over to the sixth floor of the old city building to see if that sign actually exists.

I went to Marriots Great American the day it opened and used to go to Frontier Village as a kid.

How much more SV do I need to be?

Null and Void can vouch for me

I wanted to get your thoughts about the pretty broad brush that the OP is painting with this thread. I recall you saying that such attitudes were not common on FR.

You are giving the DA way too much credit, if you think for one second the DA did not know about this, you are a FOOL, the DA personally Knows every last person in every CRIME LAB IN AMERICA, They are required to. that is their Job and they work with these people every single day, If the DA did not know, which I highly doubt, he should be disbarred for being STUPID, failure to do due diligence is not an excuse, it is ecactly what it says “FAILURE” now when it is the PROSECUTORS SWORN DUTY TO DO DUE DILIGENCE regarding the validity of any evidence he will use in court it is FELONY SUBORNING OF PERJURY. THERE IS NO EXCUSE other than CRIMINAL.

Funny I did not see anything in the article about SUBORNING PERJURY by the DISTRICT ATTORNEY in this case,Nor the Judge for allowing FALSE TESTIMONY. sending note now to greenhut.

How about forgery of a state document – a slam dunk conviction?

According to the City of San Jose web site, the good Detective Christian in the latest reported year hauled down the tidy sum if $206,277 including overtime, “other cash compensation”, health/dental, and pension contribution: http://www.sanjoseca.gov/salary/Default.aspx

More California taxpayer dollars well spent.</sarc>

The judge will all too readily believe that the DA simply trusted a bungling cop. And wrists will be slapped and the cop perhaps banned from the court. And the DA will sail on and on.

It appears you have never heard of CIVIL ASSET FORFEITURE to seize assets that are ill-gotten gains from a CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE, this fits perfectly, unless you think we hire Police Officers to LIE and ARREST INNOCENT PEOPLE, this is a CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE by Definition. Every last penny this scumbag earned as a result of him being part of a CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE should be seized.

Did you ever go to Santa's Village on Hwy 17? They were open every day of the year - except Christmas.

I wanted to get your thoughts about the pretty broad brush that the OP is painting with this thread. I recall you saying that such attitudes were not common on FR.

These are two very different threads we are talking about here. In one, the poster picked an act of bravery and compassion to attack all police officers. This one deals with an incidence of police corruption. And I don't believe I ever offered an opinion on the frequency of such attitudes on FR. I believe my point was that it was unfair to make such a generalization for ALL police officers. For every corrupt Detective Christian, there are thousands more in this country who are getting shot at by criminals, offering life saving emergency medical care, running INTO collapsing skyscrapers, keeping cool while anarchists throw urine balloons at them, and keeping order with their presence. Generally speaking, you don't make the news for doing your job.

Look, the US military is full of the bravest young men and women in this country, but who are its most famous enlisted soldiers? Bradley Manning, and Lidsey England.

We never went there, but we always waved at Santa on our way over the hill. :)

Now Frontier Village was a regular stop.
