GRAPEVINE -- A conflicted picture emerged Tuesday of a Colleyville man believed to have fatally shot six people, including his estranged wife and two children, and then himself on Christmas morning.
One woman who was part of a happy hour group that included Aziz "Bob" Yazdanpanah described him as a sweet joker who adored his family.
But another said she received a puzzling text message from him on Dec. 4, a few months after his wife and two children moved out of their Colleyville home and into a Grapevine apartment complex.
The shootings occurred inside the apartment amid opened Christmas gifts, police said.
The message, the friend said, went like this: “What do u call a guy who’s born in Austin and grows up in Dallas and then dies in Grapevine? ......... DEAD."
"He was always telling a joke," said the friend, who asked that her name not be used because she doesn't want to get involved in the tragedy. "But when he sent me this, I thought it was weird. I didn't even respond."
Yazdanpanah had attended several happy hours at a Colleyville restaurant with the two women and others in the past six months.
"He was just a sweet man," said Colleen Gedrose of Bedford. "He was outgoing, kind and adored his children."
Gedrose said Tuesday that Yazdanpanah didn't talk about problems with his family.
"I never saw him angry," she said.
On Christmas morning, police said, a middle-aged man dressed as Santa Claus fatally shot two men and four women and then himself inside a unit at the Lincoln Vineyard Apartments. Police said the attack was planned.
Police have yet to identify any of the victims, but various friends and neighbors said Yazdanpanah was believed to be the gunman.

Ah, yes. The decadent Western culture of buying people gifts and exchanging them on one day. Even Muslims can be seduced by this nod to crass capitalism. Worse, they spend even more money by wrapping the gifts with paper that will no-doubt be in the next day's garbage and the next week's landfill.
No wonder this devout Muslim wanted to stop this activity in its tracks. Wonder if he shaved all his chest hair first?

The perp’s name is Aziz “Bob” Yazdanpanah.
The victims were “his estranged wife, Fatemeh Rahmati, who left her husband this year; their children, Nona, 19, and Ali, 15; Fatemeh Rahmati’s sister, Zohreh Rahmaty, 58; her husband, Hossein Zarei, 59; and their daughter, Sahra Zarei, 22.”
At the bottom of the story it says:
“Baum said the separation was very difficult on the family’s father. Baum said the family was Muslim but celebrated Christmas as a cultural holiday. The parents were originally from Iran.”
So we have an Iranian Muzzie family who were allowed to immigrate to the USA because the Feds love Muzzies. Then the family becomes spoiled/contaminated by Western values which are anathema to Islam.
He and his wife started arguing because of the more liberal values she had assimilated while living here and she separated herself from him by taking the children and living in an apartment.
This was a major, major insult to the man’s honor so he did what a good Muzzie man will do when he is dishonored - commit an honor murder against all of those involved.
This is yet another fine example of the ‘blessing’ of Islam to this country.
This is the first time I’ve ever heard of an angry, ex-spouse killing relatives during a holiday.

Infidels were not murdered but women in Islam are valued only slightly above infidels. His wife and daughters taking on Western values and moving away from him made them pretty much coverts to the infidel’s ways therefore rendering them traitors with the resulting judgment being death.
The guy probably grew up in a home that was a little traditional in their Islamic practices. I’m sure he saw honor murders committed by other Muzzie men in Iran.
The problem of Muzzie women who come here and get spoiled by Western ways is a big one for the men in the ummah!

Oh, yeah, real sweet guy who adored his family so much he killed them. Adored them so much he bought a gun because he thought the daughter’s bf was stalking him. Why the heck would the bf stalk him? Crazy thinking. Adored his family so much he wouldn’t let go of the controlling when the daughter became an adult. Maybe his going out to happy hour with women is one of the thousand reasons his wife left him.

Is it possible his islamism was a factor? Sure! That entire belief system increases a person's propensity for murder. The divorce could very well be because he didn't approve of his daughter's "western ways".
But because he killed everyone, including his son (I'm assuming Ali is a boy's name) and himself makes me suspect that it was a wish to wipe out the entire family and put himself out of his misery rather than carry out a religious obligation.
