Gingrich Campaign Says Romney Is Looking at ‘European Socialist’ Ideas
ABC News ^ | 12-27-2011 | Jake Tapper

Recent comments by Mitt Romney in which he contemplates a Value-Added Tax and Co-Insurance are becoming fodder for his rival presidential candidate Newt Gingrich’s campaign, which has taken to calling Romney a “Massachusetts moderate” and now says Romney has looked at “European Socialist ideas.”

Gingrich campaign spokesman R.C. Hammond said that the Romney ruminations were part and parcel of the case Newt Gingrich will be making to voters this week: that he represents conservative values, while Romney is a “Massachusetts moderate.”

“The fact that he’s willing to look at European Socialism shows just how far out of the conservative mainstream he is,” Hammond said....

Forget the name-calling and the plans and just look at what they did when they were in power.

What’s Newt’s position on a Romneycare model for the entire nation?

Oh wait, he fully supports it. At least, he did when it first came out, saying that health insurance coverage was something that should be required for every American citizen.

I’ll never vote for Wrongney or Paul, but I’m getting a headache from all the people on this site who are constantly trying to push Gingrich’s conservative bona fides. He’s a big-government globalist in the “compassionate conservative” (or whatever they call that liberal republican dumbassery these days)tradition. HE’S NOT A CONSERVATIVE.

Look at their accomplishments. Newt allied himself with Ronald Reagan to build the Reagan Coalition, the Religious Right, and the Republican majority (together the Reagan Revolution) which directly led the downfall of the Soviet Union, the Contract with America, government reforms, less government, tax cuts, a balanced budget, and the great, long-standing Reagan economy.

Romney, on the other hand, vehemently denied Ronald Reagan and aligned himself with Ted Kennedy and the left. Romney accomplished installing liberal big government programs, defended and promoted Roe v Wade and legalized abortion as “settled law,” advocated and implemented RomneyCare with its liberty killing government mandates against formerly free citizens and its taxpayer funded or subsidized and mandated abortion procedures. He ran and governed to the left of Ted Kennedy on the “gay agenda” resulting in gay marriage in Massachusetts. He appointed liberal judges and liberal appointees throughout his government. Under his “leadership” conservatism and the Republican party was all but destroyed in Massachusetts.

Romney is one evil liberal progressive. No way in hell will MittBots be allowed to support this abortionist, big government, socialist scumbag on FR!

Obama and his fellow communists infiltrators must be so please with the circular firing squad which composes the current crop of GOP candidates.

If only this crowd would spend more time stating how they would dismantle the communist infiltration and how they will reduce the size of government we might have a fighting chance. As it is they are writing all the campaign commercials that the filth in the oval office will ever need.

Yes, and I hope that Gingrich takes out Willard even if the blowback costs Gingrich the nomination.

I guess I missed something but why is Romney called Willard by some? And I would love to see the two of them debate but we know it won’t happen. “Willard” would blow a gasket.

Willard Mitt Romney is Romney's name. Mitt is his middle name although he lied once on national television to declare that it was his first name for some reason: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuKnYlrGn7k

I got my posts deleted on a nothing blog called race42012.com for referring to Willard as Willard as the moderator held that calling a candidate by his actual name was somehow a problem or something.

Newt allied himself with a winner, an excellent political move. His record of PERSONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS is far, far less than impressive. What good is a balanced budget if you spend like a drunken sailor while having an affair on your wife... at the same time you’re making alliances with global warming dirtbags, growing the size of government, and supporting socialized medicine?

Trying to tie Gingrich to Reagan is an EPIC FAIL. Newt is for bigger government, more spending, and more control. His WORDS are very conservative, but his ACTIONS define him as a liberal republican dirtbag politician... and that is the absolute opposite of the Reagan tradition. Reagan displayed more conservatism in one day in office than Newt will have in his entire life.

If you think I’m a Romney defender, you have a lot to learn. You should probably start with my posting history before embarrassing yourself with a kneejerk response like the one you posted.
