When I saw the title, I thought this was going to be another OWS thread.
I was just looking at islamabad on google earth, and the author is right - the city is scattered with ravines. You can tell by the placement and growth that these aren't "green spaces", wind breaks or parks. They're areas where the locals have failed to conquer plants and animals.
What does it say about a culture where humans, in their most developed areas, are unable to subdue animals and landscapes?
