Anyone else spending Christmas Eve alone? (vanity)

Merry Christmas everyone! My sincere hope is that all of you, each and every one, will have a joyous Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

Just wondering if any others out there are spending this sacred night solo.

Besides my trusty Boxer, Django the Wonderdog, and a new edition to the household, a gorgeous long-haired black cat I have dubbed Jackson, I have the house to myself all evening and night.

Tomorrow, it will be family wall-to-wall at mom's house, complete with gifts and an excellent multi-calorie dinner. But, tonight, I'll enjoy a quiet supper and a nice cappuccino, watching "The Muppet Christmas Carol," and maybe "A Christmas Story." Probably turn in early.

Anyone else in Freeperland alone tonight? Just curious.

Not this year. But dealing with a heartbroken daughter who had her a-hole boyfriend break up with her tonight.

I have been alone in the past. It is not fun. They are right about going to church. It is good to be around life, and feel the spirit. He might just have something in store for you tonight. Go with it.

I exchanged gifts with my daughter and sisters, had a great meal, went home and now watching the Firefly DVD that my kid gave to me.

The dog is very happy I brought home leftovers!

Merry Christmas, FReeperdom!

Whatever you do this year, do not try to make eggnog. I did that once. It makes a mess. Egg whites everywhere. Talk about a white Christmas!

Anyone up for a limerick and/or haiku writing contest?

My friend was stressing early December about what to buy her boyfriend for Christmas, or his birthday (Dec. birthday). I told her I had made the observation a few years ago that when I need something, I buy it. So I really don’t have material wants or needs when it comes to Christmas. Why not plan a trip somewhere with him.

She did that. He loved it.

Personally, I found some property I want on the Colorado-Wyoming border, so if anyone is dying to give me a gift... LOL!

Well, Skooz, I’m all alone with my wife tonight. We lost our dog in March and miss her terribly. We’ll wait the full year and a bit and see if we can find another companion. The place is empty without her....she was really, really great! You have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. We hope we all get what we want in November.

Take it from someone who knows: There is life after divorce Old Sarge, and I wish you the best. Been divorced since ‘79, raised my two sons by myself, and never remarried. It took me a while to realize it, but many of the things I accomplished in my life, I never would have been able to do had I remained in a bad marriage. I took a sad event, learned from it, and moved on to a better life. I live alone, and that’s the way I like it.

I am alone myself buddy but have decided that is what it is. I thank God I served my country and was pretty damn good at it. I also thank God that my countrymen was there for me.

You have a very Merry Christmas and find the Canten for some excellent songs.
