Dear Friend,
In this video commentary, I discuss how a group called America Elects is, inadvertently, paving the way for Ron Paul to run as a third candidate, which would re-elect Obama. Tune in!
Not going to happen because Ron Paul has a son Rand Paul in the Senate. Father will not jeopardize his son’s political career by running Third Party. If Ron Paul runs strong in the GOP primary he will get prime time to make his speech in the GOP convention. Almost every major institution/businesses in the world has fallen to the internet revolution and direct democracy. The two party system will face the same problem. In some sense Morris is right, and a future primary candidate or politician may take up the internet nomination and challenge the two party system. IMHO I think we will have a four party system as Libertarian/Conservatives vs GOP vs Dem vs Occupy Wall St Leftists.
Ron Paul would accept. Basically he wants America to fail. You have to read between the lines. He damn well know that isolation will create a world of enemies that America would never be able to survive. And his approach on a strong military? Ask these questions.
Guess what? The people that will vote for Ron Paul are 90% of the young idiots that voted for Obama last time.
Not gonna affect the Republican candidate that much.
The Ron Paul folks are Infowars folks.
Well, Dick Morris is Dick Morris.
But I do think we have at least two major worries going into this election. One is that the Establishment GOP is determined to foist another lousy candidate on us, because they’d rather lose than elect someone who won’t give them their perks.
And the second is that they’ll run a third party candidate to syphon votes, like they did in 1992 and 1996.
I can think of at least three possibles at the moment: Ron Paul, Donald Trump, or Jon Huntsman. More may emerge.
Anybody else seen this?
Not sure of the date, but it looks damning to Paul’s attempts to distance himself from his racist newsletters.
I hope you are right and it makes sense.
I wonder if his consideration of a third-party run would exclude him from being on ballots in some States. Primaries are by parties and I’m sure, in some states, the Republican Party may not want to throw money behind anyone who threatens and plans to just jump to another party.
It does not take much. It can be argued that Nader defeated Gore by giving a tiny margin to Bush. And many believe that Perot put Bill Clinton into the White House.
Despite Morris's description of marginal, moderate Republicans who are involved with America Elects, and the organization's own promise of "bipartisanship" the folks who run it day to day are clearly left-oriented activists.
Spend a few minutes googling Peter Ackerman, father of COO Elliot Ackerman and apparently the largest 'individual donor' to the organization and co-founder of the International Center for Nonviolent Conflict, and some of the other names on their website. It won't take long to find that classic dark and tangled web that seems to always culminate in a thinly-veiled anti-Israel ideological position.
Ron Paul fits right in although my guess is they want someone more mainstream as their candidate.
Perhaps I should not question their motives, but frankly, I doubt if they care about getting someone elected from their own third-party. I think the only person they are interested in electing is the Democrat's candidate.
There is a lot more than just that.
1996, he admitted to both the Houston Chronicle and the Dallas Morning News he wrote them.
Most damning is in 1995, he did an interview on CSPAN where he admitted writing them. It is hard to argue with video evidence.
>>Perhaps I should not question their motives, but frankly, I doubt if they care about getting someone elected from their own third-party. I think the only person they are interested in electing is the Democrat’s candidate.
Well, lemme just say that all of my senior students (all black) that I taught in Mississippi 4 years ago that voted for Obama in 2008 are disappointed by Obama and 1/2 are Paul maniacs (like constantly sending me s*** about Paul and how great he is). The other 1/2 probably will not vote.
Sounds like a perfect recipe for a third party that can make some noise but not get their candidate elected. But can siphon enough votes to throw the election into limbo. And IMHO, this time, limbo goes to the Dems.
Saw a poll the other day that showed the opposite. In a three way race it was:
Obama 45
Romney 31
Paul 19
Looks like this could be a real problem, although I don't think it all that likely that Paul would run third party.

The folks in Iowa really need to read this stuff before they caucus.
Time for some letters to the editor and hitting newspaper websites from that area.
I agree. Besides the points you make, Ron Paul would probably accept a Libertarian Party-Constitution Party fusion nominee if he decided to go the third party route. The group mentioned by Morris is too ideologically ill defined to be of much use to him.
