Guess what? The people that will vote for Ron Paul are 90% of the young idiots that voted for Obama last time.
Not gonna affect the Republican candidate that much.
The Ron Paul folks are Infowars folks.
It does not take much. It can be argued that Nader defeated Gore by giving a tiny margin to Bush. And many believe that Perot put Bill Clinton into the White House.
Despite Morris's description of marginal, moderate Republicans who are involved with America Elects, and the organization's own promise of "bipartisanship" the folks who run it day to day are clearly left-oriented activists.
Spend a few minutes googling Peter Ackerman, father of COO Elliot Ackerman and apparently the largest 'individual donor' to the organization and co-founder of the International Center for Nonviolent Conflict, and some of the other names on their website. It won't take long to find that classic dark and tangled web that seems to always culminate in a thinly-veiled anti-Israel ideological position.
Ron Paul fits right in although my guess is they want someone more mainstream as their candidate.
Perhaps I should not question their motives, but frankly, I doubt if they care about getting someone elected from their own third-party. I think the only person they are interested in electing is the Democrat's candidate.
Saw a poll the other day that showed the opposite. In a three way race it was:
Obama 45
Romney 31
Paul 19
Looks like this could be a real problem, although I don't think it all that likely that Paul would run third party.
