Vintage Newt. Go SARAH !!!
2008? Is she backing Newt now?
Newt starts talking about Sarah Palin at the 2:04 mark and then shreds the Libs when comparing Palin with Obama
It strikes me that the vast majority of the tea party folks who are so anti-Newt - many of whom are no doubt big time Sarah Palin supporters - would in no way, shape or form be able to defend Sarah Palin the way Newt did.
It was brilliant, passionate, off the cuff and damned straight to the point.
This is also perhaps part of the establishment’s problem with Newt, because they surely would not have liked Newts support for Palin.
So to all the Holier than thou Bachmann and Santorum supporters out there hatin on the Newtster: do you think your candidate could ever replicate that performance?
Wait, don’t answer. We all know the answer.
This is why I maintain that Obama stays up late at night praying to Allah that he doesn’t have to end up debating Newt.
Not that I’m a big Newt fan however he would absolutely eviscerate Obama in a debate.
I remember this clip. You can see the flop-sweat beading on the brow of the MSNBC reporter as he’s being verbally ginsu-ed into manky little bits by Gingrich. Classic!
Now, wouldn’t it have been just great if Palin’s running mate had made any effort at all in 2008 to put up that kind of defense for her? I’m *sure* there was time on the campaign trail to wedge it in between reminding all of us “You have nothing to fear from an Obama Presidency.”
That might be 3 years old, but it was very very good.
This is a good example of Newt’s basic conservative philosophy. That philosophy governs his thinking and yet does not preclude him from recognizing and accepting help and support from others with whom he does not fully agree, e.g. per the interview, Joe Lieberman, Zell Miller, and even John McCain.
I simply do not trust the motivations and agenda of those establishment GOP’ers who are now viciously bashing Newt. I think they have invested so much of their time, money and hopes in the Mittster that they cannot let go. How sad! Who chooses candidates here? The insiders or the voters?
And if someone says, “Yes, but Newt is flawed.” Well, duh, who isn’t? At least he is smart, experienced, knowledgeable, articulate, mostly conservative, and WILLING TO FIGHT! I don’t see that in any of the remaining candidates ... and neither does Obama, who is just licking his chops to have the GOP pick Mitt.
Perry/Palin. ...Just a matter of time.
Perry/Palin. ...Just a matter of time.
Perry/Palin. ...Just a matter of time.
Sorry, got sidetracked by the trolls.
Back to our original thread, which was Newt defending Palin in a way that the others can only dream about having the ability to do:
Here it is again to get us back on track:

Looked like the black reporter was biting his lip and about to spontaneously combust.
Thank you for a great find;)
There are probably more gems out there - we have to find them.
kudos!
*Sigh*
If only we had a Conservative candidate who can shred liberals and express himself as forcefully as Newt does.
That very next February 2009, I was at CPAC in the book line for Newt and he signed my Sarah Palin poster (I didn’t know at the time that it was only for books).
Before he signed it, he looked at me.
I could see in his eyes that he was thinking of running for POTUS, and I could see in his eyes that Sarah was his...
COMPETITION!
I still have that poster mounted and it have made to just about every Tea Party and political rally around including 9/12/09.
I knew as early as August 2009 that Sarah Palin was the Tea Party candidate based on my examination of her past political history, beliefs, etc.
I think there is the impression that if she ran this time around, she would have won the Republican Primary hands down.
We are stuck with a weak field. Too bad she didn’t run.
