Rick Perry wore same jacket in anti-gay ad that Heath Ledger wore in Brokeback Mountain
Daily Mail ^ | 12.9.11 | LEON WATSON

He was only trying to make a folksy appeal to conservative Christians in Iowa.

And what he had to say was unlikely to cause much controversy with the evangelicals who dominate the Republican Party's caucuses there.

But when Presidential hopeful Rick Perry donned a brown jacket and spoke to the camera for his latest campaign ad he didn't expect to be so widely mocked.

It is a stupid thread, but somehow I’m smiling.

Thanks for keeping watch, though.

The Daily Mail, that’s a really cerebral news source. Glad to know you are monitoring such an important political website for our benefit. Perry looks darned good in that jacket!

I did not write the story and I posted it chat, due to the fact that it is not news.

However, Perry stating that there are 8 Justices on the SCOTUS is news as is Perry not being able to name the Dept of Energy as well as his stating that people who do not want to pay for the college education of illegal aliens have no heart.

Yup -

Looks like a good standard tough use ranch jacket with a synthetic fur collar - may have a zip-in insulated liner - or not.

Rick Perry’s jacket had a front horizontal seam on both sides.

I have a longer tan corduroy winter jacket/coat that has much the same look

Carhardtt makes some tough ranch/farm clothing - but I prefer Wrangler denim jeans for comfort over the Carhardtt denims I also have

I’m been looking for a sale on a good tough jacket like Rich Perry is wearing in that photograph - but I’m not in ranch country raising Brahmas and horses anymore - so the malls and stores tend to not stock those styles

Back to Amazon - where I but my Wranglers and Carhardtt denims with free 2-Day PRIME shipping - and no silly state sales tax!

The Gay Media Mafia of Obamaville is pathetic and panicking -

Better by far that your boy constantly blaming the U.S for 9/11.

I’ll take a strong patriot like Rick Perry over your leftist, spaced-out buddy Ron Paul any day.

LOL!

Great oldie potlatch!

Original Levis (then USA made by non-gays), white T-Shirts (Like Michael Jordan does TV ads for - Do I get an NBA contact?), and KEDS (or black steel-toed engineer boots for those around quarter horses and Brahma cattle every day like my older brother and I) were the standard garb of 97% of the boys at PBHS when I was there - my jacket was usually a blue cordoroy FFA jacket -

We did not need spurs on well-trained cutting horses and chaps were not needed with just low palmettos in the pastures

In another time:

HS Senior “Scooter” Buck (about 6’4”) forward, end, 2nd base (I think) in HS - showed up at school one day wearing some old Levis he had his mother bleach out and dyed light pink

If anyone had said anything stupid - Scooter and the jocks would have “de-pants’ed” them and run their blue denims up the tall flagpole out in front of PBHS

Fights at PBHS were quickly settled at PBHS by having both guys put on boxing gloves and the rest of a class would sit around them in a circle and watch them punch each other until they were falling down exhausted and decided to shake hands and get real -

One may not be able to hold prayer meetings and the like, but there is nothing stopping anyone from praying.

*****************************************************

Under their own ‘Rules’...Congress begins each day with a prayer offered by the chaplain after the session opens.

Sure anyone can pray in silence or whispering but there are no longer any community prayers offered at the beginning of the school day.

Christmas Carols that mention Jesus are no longer sung in our schools.....now the songs are about snow, reindeer, winter weather, jingle bells, but not the real reason for the season.

From the US Constitution: Free Exercise Clause
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. (Amendment 1)

So we now have ‘prohibiting the free exercise therof’....under the guise of not offending someone.

There is a reason the left is doing this. The idea is to rekindle gay rumors should Perry surge.

This is pretty damn stupid, but then we are dealing with awfully evil people.

Right now the dems are trying to sell Obozo and Moochelle as the leave it to Beaver family. Wholesome and clean cut.

The idea is to attack all of our candidates as deviants, perverts, and homewreckers.

They will stop at nothing.

Our side bring up Larry Sinclair or Reggie Love? Nope, they ain’t got the guts to fight fire with fire.
