Thanks for all your efforts in bringing history back again.
The formal Declaration of War united the Nation as never again. Sad that a succession of Presidents have since used the UN or other work-arounds to avoid committing the nation thereby fostering pro and anti politics with a lack of demonstrable success. Imagine today starting a large draft with Rosie the Riveter working in our own factories.

Indeed; well done, Cougar! The press coverage of FDR’s speech to the joint session sent chills down my spine.

That’s what a joint session of Congress, with the Cabinet and Supreme Court present, is supposed to be for. Not for taking up everyone’s time to make a speech only for the sake of feeling self-important.
