Rolling in the Deep" singer's no Jane Sixpack
Some singers' contracts stipulate that the red jelly beans have to be removed. Adele's backstage rider says keep the American beer away from her.
In her boilerplate contract, the British singer goes out of her way to diss stateside suds. She must have 12 bottles of beer on her bus, but it can't be just any beer. It must be the "best quality European lager beer." Beck's, Stella Artois, Peroni, the pact suggests helpfully.
Then, for the band's and crew's buses, only "good quality local lager" is acceptable. "NOT Budweiser, Miller or similar 'National' brand," the rider, obtained by thesmokinggun.com, states.
She also goes out of her way to insult California, insisting on two bottles of wine from Italy, France, Spain or Australia.
The "Rolling in the Deep" singer does approve of American chocolate bars, including Milky Ways, and there appears to be no anti-American sentiment in her demands for milk, orange juice and mineral water.
Oh, and anyone getting into the show for free has to pony up for charity, according to the rider. People receiving comped tickets must donate a minimum of $20 for charity upon pickup, and this is non-negotiable. There will be no exception to this rule, according to the document.
Add Magic Hat to that excellent list. I’m partial to their #9.
I am sober so I no longer drink but when I did I would enjoy an nice dark ale. Not everyone is a fan of the watered down back swill. haha. I can’t blame her. As much as I think she is a fantastic singer, I hope she isn’t overdoing the beer. She’s a bit hefty and already battle voice overuse injuries so she needs to take excellent care of herself.
Sounds like she’s one Pabst Blue Ribbon away from being White Trash in Trouble!
Well it tastes like a lager:) Anyway it is good beer.
Sierra Nevada has “Old Chico Wheat” that is lager-like but has sooooooo much more flavor than a Bud/Miller/Coors.
I highly recommend it.
Cheers,

I dislike beer snobs, any variety, any nationality. I really dislike beer snobs.
Never heard of her or her group.
She should be singing all the James Bond songs from now on. I miss the Shirley Bassey treatment to those themes.
Poseur. There’s no discernable difference between “Stella Artois” and Miller High Life.
Orange juice from concentrate is kinda yucky.
I think she is lovely as well.
Since she is being such a anti American idiot I think they should throw a couple of six packs of Kroger Cost Cutter beer in her bus and watch the fireworks.
This full blooded patriotic American says that American beer sucks.
Except for some microbrews and some smaller regional brews the beer in this country seems like it is soda-pop made of grain and water with a little alcohol thrown in to make it worth the effort it takes to choke it down.
If she is touring all over the country, how is she supposed to know what is a good local brew? Better to play it safe.
I am partial to good German dopple bocks and schwarzbiers myself. (Try a Spaten Optimator sometime if you want to see what real beer tastes like.)
She is losing out on her wine list, though. I am not a wine person but those who are tell me that there are some very fine California wines, and some excellent NY wines.
But all in all I see no reason to take offense at her requirements.

No Arrogant Bastard Ale?

But, she did insult California so I’ll give her a pass.
She is not worthy.
Personally I prefer (or used to, when I lived close enough to Paso Robles) Firestone Double Barrel Ale, IF it is on tap. The bottles are not the same. I'd swear it's a different beer...
