Herman Cain Wasn't the Savior of the Republic (Vanity)
Self | 12/3/12 | Self

Posted on 12/03/2011 12:22:28 PM PST by Lou Budvis

Although I understand why Cain supporters feel let down and disappointed, I don't understand those who are thowing up their hands, conceding the election to 0bama, and declaring the end of the Republic.

Where was there any evidence that Cain had capabilty and experience to lead the Nation?

Did he have years of fighting the good fight with the scars to prove it? No. Compare the battles Sarah Palin fought even before 2008.

Since he is a radio commentator, was he a leading voice of conservative thought? No. If you want a radio host with a thorough understanding of the Constitution and gov't, Mark Levin would be a better choice.

He didn't have a distinguished military career like Col. West. Working on weapons gives you no geo-poltical experience as to when to use them. Oppenheimer may have been the father of the A-bomb, but he was never qualified to decide when to use it.

Finally, if his business experience was in manufacturing or finance, he would have a better understanding of what it will take to bring America back. But,the US doesn't need anymore fast food joints.

He added to the debate for sure, but he wasn't the end all be all.

Neither him nor Sarah were savior of the republic.

We should be focusing on electing quality presidents, senators, representatives, governors, etc., not saviors of the universe.

If anyone is going to save this republic, it’s going to be we the people.

If Cain had become president, we would have surrendered to France by 2014.

His endorsement will be important in the primaries and the general election.

Cain could have saved the RINO Party from itself.

Quick to kick him when he’s down, aren’t you?

Don’t know which is more evil—the Cain hate from them...or us.

I'm taking a wait and see attitude. Let the dust settle. In this election cycle, you never know what will happen.

Call me disappointed.

You save the Republic and then the next day you have to save it all over again

Do you think the current crop of kooks, retreads and Northeastern Republicans are up to the task of turning this nation around?

They will cut political deals with the Democrats, stab Conservatives in the back and spend us into further debt, either way it is a Obama second term.

Well surrendering to France might not be so bad: I’ve decided that as long as both Obama and Sarkozy are in office, Nicholai Sarkozy is the Leader of the Free World.

(I’m debating whether the title devolves to Cameron, Merkl or Harper if Sarkozy leaves office before Obama.)

If anyone is going to save this republic, it’s going to be we the people.

Actually I think that's what Sarah has said.

What gripes me is the right wing circular firing squad. No, Herman probably never would or should have been the candidate but for him to be taken out by unproven accusations - well how easy is that for the left? They play us for idiots and we fall for it every time.

I'll never get over what was done to Sarah and the left isn't even ashamed.

Your comment is in very poor taste. About as dumb as those who trashed Palin fans when she decided not to run.

Herman Cain Wasn't the Savior of the Republic

He would have been an improvement over Obama. But I guess that's not important. What's important is attacking a candidate because he's not your preferred. Welcome to the 2012 campaign, otherwise known as the latest Reality TV show.

Be sure to drop your popcorn bag in the trash as you leave the Bread & Circus.

If the standard for our candidate is that we don't want anybody that state-controlled media orchestrates a smear campaign against, then we might as well nominate Ubama.

I bet it is very peaceful for you, with nothing between your ears but a vacuum.

Cain is an Alpha Male and the very thing —his drive —was such that made him a success—but it may have been this that kept his eye roving for new female conquests. A Democrat might be able to do this—a Republican NO. The old double standard. He was wise to leave now. I hope a place can be found for him in Government. He’s a good man.

That’s why we have this process, I suppose - a trial by fire to see how the candidate stands the heat. It is pathetic that the left isn’t held to the same standards, though. If it wasn’t for the double standard, the left would have no standards at all.

Cain didn’t do a good job organizing his campaign or predicting what would come his way. He seems like a helluva guy with fine ideas, though. My hope is that he’ll come out of this reformed and renewed.

Thank you, you beat me to it! I love these “holier-then-thou” folks. No elected person is going to be my savior, but having someone with a Conservative plan and maybe the brass to push for it would be a nice change from the RNC/DNC sameness.
